Hospitalized Ashcroft cancels schedule
Edited on Mon Mar-08-04 02:18 PM by Timefortruth
Attorney General John Ashcroft has canceled his schedule for the rest of week as he undergoes treatment for gallstone pancreatitis, Justice Department officials said Monday.

(skip)

Aides said the attorney general, 61, continues to receive medication for pain and antibiotics to fight an infection in his pancreas.

The aides said they were told that process could take up to a week and there was no immediate indication that Ashcroft would be removed from the intensive care unit at George Washington University Hospital in Washington.

This must be quite serious he still isn't well enough for surgery after five days, that can't be good news for Ashcroft (but it maybe good news for the Bill of Rights). Also telling is that they aren't commenting on his condition in a specific way.

Ashcroft may have an appointment with the Grim Reaper, I bet he'll be surprised by where he is led.

1. Wasn't he supposed to announce some verdicts of some terrorists
on the day he got hospitalized? Anyone heard any more about that?

2. I wonder if he'll end up a vegetable.
Maybe by the end he'll be in so much pain that he'll be begging for death, yet he won't get it because of his own actions against "death with dignity" laws.

And one of Tommy Chong's "Designer Bongs" to smoke it in.

subpoena his hospital records. He wants to invade the privacy of others, so his should be an open record, too.

5. You'd think it would be against his religion to go into a hospital...
in attempts to remedy his condition, the doctors might rely on some of that "evil biology" or "evil chemistry".

15. LOL, the thought of one of these hypocrites actually suffering
defies comprehension.

The one thing they all have in common is cowardice. Just check Ashcroft's military service to his country at time of war.

6. GW Hospital
Not where I'd go if I had gallstone pancreatits. Ashcroft should be at Walter Reed or Johns Hopkins, or even Georgetown or the Washington Hospital Center. Maybe he couldn't find any Republican surgeons at any of the alternatives?

8. This sounds a lot like detox to me...
What causes pancreatitis?

Acute pancreatitis is usually caused by drinking too much alcohol or by gallstones. A gallstone can block the pancreatic duct, trapping digestive enzymes in the pancreas and causing pancreatitis.

Chronic pancreatitis occurs when digestive enzymes attack and destroy the pancreas and nearby tissues. Chronic pancratitis is usually caused by many years of alcohol abuse, excess iron in the blood, and other unknown factors. However, it may also be triggered by only one acute attack, especially if the pancreatic ducts are damaged.

14. I'm one to think that these folks lie about everything, even when
the truth would be simpler. But Ashcroft likely wasn't a drinker. He has a pathologically rigid personality with an unforgiving view of right and wrong. Drinking is wrong to him, there is no middle ground.

17. There are plenty of holier than thou types
Who are closet drinkers and/or sexual perverts. Just look at all the ones in the catholic church and that's not the only religion that has a corner on the hypocrite market.

For example, the pastor of my church was so hung over on my communion day he couldn't even hold the chalice straight.

I just can't wish this kind of affliction on anyone, no matter how dispicable. Plus, more importantly, I'd hate for him to be 'unavalible' for questioning in the 911 probe...

12. Is he invited to the 9-11 probe?
I don't recall his name on the list. You can bet he is getting some kind of probe in the hospital!! Heard Bill Maher say last night it can't be due to drinking. He must have gotten an infection from using the constitution to wipe his butt.

And, in any event, I don't think anyone brought this "harm" upon Ashcroft but himself.

31. I agree - I think the whole thing is a lie
Edited on Mon Mar-08-04 04:45 PM by Unknown Known
If he has pancreatitis - it's not the biliary tract kind from gallstones. And if he's this sick from it - then he may very well have peritonitis (sepsis).

However, IMHO, I think he was poisoned. That's why it's taking them so long for "test results". If he's still in ICU after 3 days, he's probably on a vent.

30. I can't bring myself to wishing harm to anyone...
but I wonder if this experience will open his eyes, and make him more compassionate to his fellow man. He might want to consider the millions without health insurance, who don't have the luxury of being so carefully treated.

He might also want to consider his stance of denying adequate pain relief to all those who suffer from agonizing pain, not just from hiss illness, but all conditions causing severe pain.

He might, but somehow I doubt it.
