'Grandma Bandit' Robs Two Houston Banks Hours Apart

FBI agents are searching for a woman who robbed two Houston banks less than four miles apart — and was brazen enough not to cover her face, the Houston Chronicle has reported.

Authorities have nicknamed her the "Grandma Bandit," a woman who appears to be between 55 and 65, with shoulder-length gray hair and glasses.

The woman first robbed a bank on Friday afternoon after claiming to have a gun; her second heist occured an hour later.

The robber gave no explanation to bank tellers for wanting the money leading police to find it "unusual" that she's engaging in this type of criminal activity.

22. One of my neighbors caught an elderly woman in an electric wheelchair stealing his lawn furniture

He asked what she was doing. Her first reaction was to pretend not to speak English. But when he said "I'm calling the police right now", she was suddenly able to understand him.

He followed her down an alley. He observed her getting out of her chair, walking into someone's yard, and coming back with a plastic bucket.

He saw her go into the back entrance of a house. He reported that address to the police.

A cop came by his house 30 minutes later to say that he'd gone to the house. The cop observed several elderly women in wheelchairs, but none that matched the description of the thief.

The cop advised my friend not to leave stuff out.

Many years ago I used to work construction. Laying concrete specifically. Most or our crew was Honduran or Mexican. Whenever something particularly backbreaking needed to be done, amazingly their command of the English language became absent. They were funny guys, but man I did some hard labor during those days.
