Congressman asks for report on ‘torture memos’ (Joe Sestak)
Source: Times Herald

NORRISTOWN — Congressman Joe Sestak, D-7th Dist., wants U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to release a report critical of Justice Department lawyers who authorized coercive interrogations, including the waterboarding of captured enemy combatants.

On Sunday, Sestak faxed a letter to Holder’s office requesting findings of a probe of potential misconduct by attorneys who authored the so-called “torture memos” during the Bush administration.

During Holder’s confirmation hearing in January, he testified that he considered the use of waterboarding to be torture and illegal as a means to coerce enemy captives to reveal information.

The Pennsylvania congressman’s main aim is to find out what was revealed in the Office of Professional Responsibility’s (OPR) investigation of memoranda that gave legal justification for the use of enhanced interrogation techniques on terrorist enemies captured on the battlefield or elsewhere.

3. The Rule of Law

Saying that we adhere to the Rule of Law is a total joke as long as these horrible cretins, including Bush and Cheney, are inindicted and unpunished.

5. Torture is a Federal Capital Crime, like Murder. Change starts with accountability.
Torture is a Federal Capital Crime, like Murder. You wouldn't ignore a Murderer just because he confessed publicly and talked openly about it, like Cheney and Bush have done? Would You?

Change starts with accountability.
Have the courage to prosecute the worst crimes of the Bush Administration so they will not happen again. At least prosecute Cheney and the Torture Memo Lawyers. They are the one who led Bush around by the nose.

If you and I cannot hold them responsible for the heinous crime of Torture
we will never make them hear us on any topic.
