Source: Associated PressPeru army plans arms purchase, tests Chinese tanks 38 mins ago LIMA, Peru – Peru's military is close to a deal to buy tanks from China, the defense minister said Tuesday. Rafael Rey told The Associated Press that the army is testing MBT-2000 tanks brought from China, but wants a better-equipped model of the tank. Peru showed the tanks in a parade on Tuesday. Rey didn't say how many tanks Peru would buy. The Lima newspaper La Republica reported that it plans to buy 80 to 120 tanks and has evaluated Chinese, German, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish models. The defense minister later told RPP radio that Peru is also planning to look at navy and air force purchases as well. economically there are some border disputes that are a bit volatile. Makes you wonder if they're preparing for war.
Personally I never liked Alan Garcia.

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--October 16, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Pisco city, in the Ica Department of Peru, has been selected by CF Industries (Rockford, Illinois) and Nitratos del Peru S.A. (Lima, Peru) to construct two grassroot fertilizer chemical plants. Pisco is 290 kilometers from Lima and is appropriate for the projects because it is near the coast. The area already has natural gas supply, since the pipeline that transports gas from the Camisea Field runs though the city.
