Tony Blair accused of 'twisting facts' on Iraq
Source: Daily Mail

Tony Blair was last night accused of ‘breathtaking cynicism’ after he claimed that he would have invaded Iraq even if he had known it had no weapons of mass destruction.

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg launched a scathing assault on Mr Blair for saying that he would simply have used different arguments to justify the 2003 invasion in an interview for the BBC.

=snip=

His statement triggered accusations that he was embarking on a damage-limitation exercise ahead of his appearance at the Iraq War inquiry being led by Sir John Chilcot.

Mr Blair is due to be examined in the new year.

Mr Clegg said: ‘For Tony Blair to declare that he would have come up with any old reason to justify the illegal invasion of Iraq shows quite how far he was prepared to twist the facts to suit his determination to invade Iraq alongside George Bush.

‘It is both troubling and offensive that Blair felt able simply to pull the wool over people’s eyes to suit his own ends. This revelation underlines that the Liberal Democrats were right to stand alone against the drive by both Labour and Conservative parties to go to war in Iraq.’

2. Dear Tony bLiar; please remember, under UK law, ONLY SELF DEFENSE
is a legal basis for invasion.

Which is why YOU used the bullshit "can attack us within 45 minutes" crap.

Which is why YOU were smart enough to NOT use the "Iraq did 911" bullshit...although you probably would have if you could have, but Brits, as with the rest of the entire world except for 70% of Americans, already KNEW FOR A FACT that Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with the 911 attacks.

You were WARNED by Attorney General Lord Goldsmith that regime change was ILLEGAL.

And NOW you wanna PUBLICLY say you'd have invaded the innocent people of Iraq ANYWAYS???!

Excellent. Publicly admitting you are, in fact, a war criminal is the least you could do.

You evil MFer.

5. There is a name for the process of 'twisting facts'
It's called telling lies. No need to sugar coat war crimes. What's the difference between what Tony and George did in the case of Iraq and what Adolf did in the case of Poland?
