British Airways Christmas strike set to disrupt 1 million people
Source: The Guardian

The holiday plans of nearly 1 million British Airways passengers have been thrown into chaos after cabin crew voted for a 12-day strike over Christmas and New Year.

The walkout by 12,500 cabin crew between 22 December and 2 January will ground Heathrow airport's largest carrier and will spark a scramble for tickets on rival airlines as passengers are forced to find alternative means of completing their journeys.

1. The plans have been thrown into chaos by BA's ownership's intransigence
and continued exploitation of the company's labor force.

3. It won't affect high-margin business travel very much
Since business travelers tend to not fly during the holidays anyway.

This will affect mostly the bargin ticket vacationers.

5. I fly transatlantic a LOT
Good thing I never use BA for the Europe-USA legs. I usually use Air France or Air Berlin, and although
Air France has had their share of strikes, I have never been caught out by one of them--yet, anyway. I'm
sure my karma debt will come due at some point.
