Poll: Crist And Rubio Now Tied In Florida GOP Primary
Source: TPM

The new Rasmussen poll of the Florida Republican Senate primary has big news for conservative insurgent candidate Marco Rubio -- he's now tied with moderate Gov. Charlie Crist, the favorite of the GOP establishment.

In the new survey, the two each have 43% support, with a ±5% margin of error. Back in October, Crist was ahead by 49%-35%.

Rubio has been hammering Crist over his having campaigned alongside President Obama for the stimulus bill. And it seems to be working. The primary will be held on August 24, 2010.

I'm fairly discouraged right now overall but this is a little bit of a cheer up.

1. Can Kendrick Meek win?
He just strikes me as very lightweight.

4. Polls suggest Meek would beat Rubio and lose to Crist.
I think having Rubio as the nominee is our best chance of picking up this seat.

2. not too sure
If I read a Rasmussen Poll that said people believe that the sky is blue and water is wet, I still wouldn't believe it. Rasmussen is like the Faux News of polls.....They're simply RW shills/hacks!

3. The Florida Republicans are nuts k*r
Crist is very popular. He will run as an independent or, if they're smart, the Democrats will nominate him. Crist is the first governor to attempt to re-enfranchise ex-felons for voting privileges. No Democrat has tried this and no Republican before him. He got close, a manual rather than computerized return of voting rights. He's innovative and very effective with the people. Even if he loses, that's no guarantee that the Democrats will win. Florida has a very entrenched Democratic leadership, to be kind. This is very interesting stuff.
