Blue Shield drops harsh cancellation policy
Source: KGO-TV

San Francisco-based Blue Shield told its policyholders recently, if they paid their insurance premium late, they could lose their insurance. However, late Wednesday afternoon, after facing tough questions from ABC7 and policyholders, Blue Shield reversed that policy.

They went back and forth on this issue and it quickly turned into a nightmare for Blue Shield. Then on Wednesday afternoon, the company sent ABC7 an email saying in light of all the feedback from members, they are now going back to their old policy -- meaning nothing has changed.

... On Wednesday, because of all the media attention and complaints from clients, the company said it would go back to the old policy: "In addition to the 28 day grace period, we will continue to allow members to ask to be reinstated for an additional 15 days."

Blue Shield said it will now send out clarification letters shortly to all members.

4. The mere fact that they would even try to pull this shit at this crucial time...
...is an indication of how strong they are relative to our powder-puff president, and our inept Congress.

Hell, if they wanted to they could probably march into the Oval Office, de-pants Obama, and play "keep-away" with his trousers as Obama runs around the room flailing his arms while trying to get his pants back. That's essentially a junior-high analogy of what has been allowed to occur under this incredibly weak president, and this corrupt and incompetent Congress.

Pathetic.

7. Imagine what they will do when the Individual Mandate has become law.
Anyone who refuses (or is unable) to pay their absurdly overpriced premiums will be fined by the IRS. Anyone who can not pay the IRS the fines will then be sent to jail. "Individual Mandate" = Fascism.

9. Jail?
Sure, I have issues with the HCR situation, but people keep talking about jail, where is that in the bill? I think that's hyperbole.

As I understand it, if you owe the IRS money and can't pay it, you don't go to jail; they garnish wages. I don't think they typically send anyone to jail unless they commit fraud. If someone simply can't pay, that's not justification for prison.

11. OK, they'll garnish your wages until there is nothing left.
I don't really see how this ends anywhere short of debtor's prisons

10. health insurance etc.
The health care panorama keeps getting "worser and worser". "We the people" are being held hostage by the lack of honesty and truth in our frigging leaders; and worse still, by our POTUS that has really blinded us with his promises of change... Change for the worst? I am sure that if Hillary had been elected, none of this will be happening...
