Huckabee leads rally to try to change Nelson's mind (on health care vote)

The health-care reform bill expected to win passage in the U.S. Senate is an attack on “liberty” in America, said Mike Huckabee, a former Republican presidential candidate from Arkansas.

Huckabee was the star of the show at an Omaha rally held Sunday against President Obama's health care initiative. He opposes the mandate in the bill that will require all Americans to have insurance.

Huckabee said in an interview prior to the rally that the bill requires Americans to “put their liberty in the hands of government.”

About 1,800 people packed the lower level of the Omaha Music Hall for the rally. Many of them said they came to show their disappointment with Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson, who is providing Obama the crucial 60th vote to get the bill passed.

8. You hit the nail
Hucksterbee's just trying to look relevant again, oblivious to the fact that one of his pardons freed a man who shot four cops in cold blood a few weeks ago in a donut shop in Washington State.

5. Huckabee and others are total asses...
I've had it with these obstructionists. Nelson, Lieberman, Landrieu, and all the Republicans. Where the hell is their conscience and compassion for the American public. All of them come up with reasons why they can't vote yes on healthcare reform. Every time I read posts on this site or watch TV, there is some person/persons with a reason they want to filibuster or vote NO. What the hell do they want. You mean to tell me there are no people in Oklahoma who need a hand with their healthcare? Or in Louisiana...or Maine...or Nebraska? WTF.

Instead we get these loony teabaggers or their likes out there protesting. Where the hell are the protests by people who want this healthcare reform passed? No one had problems getting anti-war rallies in the 60s and 70s and now those who want reform have ti sit on the sidelines while these knucklehead teabaggers, who have a collective IQ of about 85, push their agenda. It is sad.

6. Huckabee positioning himself for a presidential run. Grandstand it, baby!
wouldn't it be great to have a president that believes the bible is a literal document - that doesn't believe in evolution?

9. The fundies can have all that and more
with Caribou Barbie. If he's stupid enough to run again in Iowa, he'll find that he's in the cross-hairs of her moose rifle!

7. Does the Huckster and followers have enough money to raise Reid's bid?
It's all about money in the end. If they don't have money to back up their cause they might as well forget it.
