Nestle made misleading drink health claims: FDA
Source: Reuters via Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Swiss food giant Nestle made misleading claims about the health benefits of some children's beverages, U.S. regulators said in letters released on Tuesday.

The Food and Drug Administration, in a December 4 letter, said Nestle made unauthorized nutrient content claims on certain Juicy Juice products marketed for children under age 2.

In a separate December 3 letter, the FDA said Nestle's Boost Kid Essentials Nutritionally Complete Drink, in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavors, was promoted as a "medical food" but did not meet requirements for that type of claim.

WHAT a SHOCKER! Nestle, the company that sends people into third-world hospitals to convince mothers that their formula is superior to breast milk, has LIED about health benefits of its products. Who would have guessed? :sarcasm:

4. It seems to be a speciality of Nestles. I heard on good authority in the seventies
that they were responsible for the deaths of thousands of African children, as a result of their sales-campaign prompting mothers to feed their babies with powdered milk.

6. Up until the late 80's, they sent reps into hospitals dressed as doctors and nurses.
They are still sending people in and although the dress has changed they still present themselves as medical professionals. They give the new mothers just enough free formula to be sure that their milk supply dries up - which of course hooks them. The hospitals go along with it because of the cost savings and kick-backs.

Since the formula is obscenely expensive, the new mothers often stretch the formula well beyond a reasonable point - malnutrition problem. On top of that, the water they use to cut it is often rather disgusting by any standard. Yes, Nestle is responsible for the deaths of thousands of children. I haven't knowingly bought any of their products since at least '87 - and that includes Libby's, Contadina, and Carnation. They own a lot of shit, but it is usually printed somewhere on the label.

So, is it a shock that they are telling fibs to Americans as well? I think not.

9. Switzerland based Nestle?
The same Nestle that convinced the mothers of the third world that their formula was superior to their breast milk?
The same Nestle that is bullying it's way into taking over local water supplies?
The Swiss who held billions of dollars of gold for the Nazi regime?
The Swiss who allow the shadiest of crime syndicates full protection from the law?

Yes.
