PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AFP) – The Taliban blew up a girls' school in Pakistan's Khyber district, where troops are fighting against militants in the tribal region bordering Afghanistan, an official said Wednesday.

Militants detonated explosives overnight at the government-run school in Bazgarah town, about 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Peshawar, capital of the violence-plagued North West Frontier Province.

"The building had 21 rooms. All have been completely demolished," local administration chief Shafeerullah Wazir told AFP by telephone.

There were no casualties because the property was empty at the time.

I figured that fulfilled your requirement of "Pakistani Taliban." Although I guess you're right, it says that the Taliban officials just PAID to have someone do it, and didn't actually do it themselves.

If the villagers truly did not want their girls to attend school, they'd simply keep them out. The fact that they're not keeping them out and the Taliban have to go to such extreme measures to keep girls out of the school indicates that the Taliban are NOT, in fact, representing the will of these villagers through such actions. Frankly, I find your post a little disturbing... It's one thing to oppose imperialism and quite another thing to throw young girls under the bus.
