16. It's on the news because people want to hear it.
News is like french fries, not brussels sprouts. It's what people actually want to eat, not what they "should" eat.

I don't follow the Madoff stuff much, but I'll be damned if I'd ever let someone else who thinks they're smarter than me decide what news I can or can't follow.

18. Oh man...
you mean we actually should eat brussels sprouts...all these years wasted, I thought they were only to be consumed before a long drive in a car that will be sealed because of the weather!...D:

8. Surprised
Surprised that Madoff didn't pull a "Ken Lay". A well timed "heart attack", some plastic surgery, and a closed casket funeral and it's off to Fiji. That kind of money will buy you anything.

22. He just slipped in the shower
At one point I provided medical care in a prison, and that ways always the explanation given for prisoners who had obviously been beaten.

Beaten either by the guards, or by fellow prisoners, it made no difference - guards and prisoners always protected each other in this circumstance, neither group wanting outsiders intruding into their culture. Oddly, neither did the injured men - I never had one who would admit to me that he had been beaten, though my trustee would usually tell me what had happened - IF I would cut friends of his some slack (say a week of light-duty, a day or two in the infirmary, etc).

26. All i want to know is
did he buy his own band-aids or were they furnished by the feds.Because we should really charge him for every stitch,suture,band-aid,gauze,aspirin,cotton ball, shot, water, and all the other things given to the injured in prison of his caliber.

28. hypertension and dizziness does not need an admit to Duke
The hospital infirmary can give him stuff to bring down his bp. Don't they have an ekg machine? There are lots of oldsters in prison and they don't exactly have a healthy population.
