King will continue to fight health-care bill
Source: Quad City Times

JOHNSTON — U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said Democrats are working to create a “dependency class” in America in an effort to expand their political base and stay in power.

“That’s part of the motive,” King said when discussing federal health-care reform efforts with reporters after a Tuesday taping of Iowa Public Television’s “Iowa Press.”

King, who represents Iowa’s 5th District, said he will do what he can to try stop a health-care bill from heading to President Barack Obama’s desk, and he urged others who opposed the bill to join him.

He said Democrats are moving toward nation health care, whether a public insurance option is included in the final bill or not.

The guy's an ass and an embarrassment to all of Iowa.

He and Peter King almost make me wish we could have a law that says no one with the last name King can serve in Congress.

1. Would be nice if he was right about moving to national health care but he is not and we are screwed
for a much different reason than he tells us.

5. Sorry...he's right on several things
1) once people get it a taste there'll be no turning back. 5-10 years down the road
2) several generations will remember who tried to stop it
3) once the bill is signed, we WILL be moving toward National Health insurance.

Whether you and others accept these facts or not.

6. Oh, there'll be no turning back, allright
No turning back the further downward pressure on the working and middle class, no turning back the increasing power of the criminal insurance cartels over our money and our lives.

There is no move towards national health insurance in this bill.

If it comforts you to think so, be my guest.

9. +1
Two propaganda machines are at work here. Those inside the party and those outside the party...and they are both spewing bullshit. THAT is why so many people feel we do not have representative government any more. Both sides in this debate are full of shit.

3. "a dependency class"?
What an asshole. Sick or injured people who can't afford health care should probably just die, is that it?

I don't like the bill myself, but not for this creep's reasons.

7. Steve King is a raving idiot.....
.....The greatest Iowa congressman is Bruce Braley of the 1st district who was attacked in his first campaign in 2006 by corporations, lobbyists, and big money interests at the hands of his corporate Gop challenger Mike Whalen and Braley still crushed Whalen 55-43%. Braley has now organized the new populist caucus.

11. Braley is my Representative
He's so much better than that ass Steve King because he doesn't make a fool of himself on an hourly basis and instead works hard for the people who sent him to Congress.
