The Associated Press

Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., is taking his message on health care reform to Nebraskans in a TV ad that will reach many during the Huskers' Holiday Bowl telecast.

In the ad, Nelson says that given the distortions about health care reform, "I want you to hear directly from me."

The ad campaign begins Wednesday night during the broadcast of the Nebraska-Arizona bowl game and will continue statewide for a few days.

This follows yesterdays poll that shows Nelson's approval rating since his 60th vote on health care at just 40%

1. Bozo
Edited on Wed Dec-30-09 11:27 AM by wryter2000
He'll blame his bad numbers on the fact that something did pass or that he didn't manage to get a rule to tell women what to do with their bodies, not that he denied the people of his state any kind of solid reform.

Edit: apologies to Bozos everywhere.

3. I am glad to know he pissed off so many right wingers, but
I sure wish he'd keep his creepy mind out of our wombs.

It'll be good to see him go down in flames.

5. Ultimately he will vote against Health Care. Just watch, he'll say that the joint
House/Senate bill out of conference is too liberal.

7. I, too, sense a double-cross. If Nelson is this wishy-washy now,

things won't get better after conference.

6. Instead of focusing ONLY on a woman's right to choose, Sen. Nelson should

also add in support for a Public Option?

If Nelson is going to stake his political future on something, he should go for broke on both issues.

8. Ben Nelson Responds (Lamely) to Progressives With New TV Ad (VIDEO)
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Democracy for America recently began airing ads in Nebraska holding Ben Nelson accountable for undermining the public option.

Immediately after these ads were announced, The Huffington Post's Sam Stein reported that Nelson called the small-business owner featured in the ad and defensively tried to get him to stop speaking out. Then Nelson called Howard Dean, founder of Democracy for America.

Today, Nelson continued scrambling -- airing an ad of his own in Nebraska on health care.

<snip>

Today, the PCCC and DFA are putting the ad featuring the small-business owner holding Nelson accountable up for another week -- and will keep airing it as long as small dollar donors keep chipping in to air it.

11. In his message to voters of Neb. he will say,
Dear voters,

Thank you for letting me be your corporate whore for the insurance industry. I will continue to bend over and grab my ankles for my corporate masters. I'm Ben Nelson and I approved this message.
