Flight 253 terror suspect raised no suspicion in Amsterdam
Source: Associated Press

THE HAGUE, Netherlands— Dutch prosecutors say they have not found any evidence that a Nigerian man suspected of trying to blow up a U.S.-bound airliner on Christmas Day had accomplices at Amsterdam’s airport.

Prosecutors studying more than 200 hours of security camera footage also say that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab appears to have already had explosives with him when he arrived at Schiphol Airport from Lagos, Nigeria.

Prosecutors said in today’s statement that Abdulmutallab underwent a security interview and check before boarding the Northwest Airlines flight to Detroit that he allegedly tried to blow up.

A team of investigators says Abdulmutallab never left the transfer lounge or secure gate area at Schiphol Airport.

1. I cannot believe this......
How can someone with no passport have not raised any suspicion?
A number of witnesses say they saw him helped on board..
Who ever allowed this man to get on board obviously has a lot of power.

3. You mean other than a Nigerian passport? Now about Obama's birth certificate...
http://www.detnews.com/article/20100105/METRO/1050370/1409/METRO/Passenger-s-account-of-Flight-253-suspect-disputed
But officials in Nigeria have said Abdulmutallab had a valid Nigerian passport with a multi-entry U.S. visa when he began his journey in Lagos on Christmas Eve. Agents confiscated both documents after Abdulmutallab arrived in Detroit, a person familiar with the investigation said.

Taylor said Haskell may have mistaken the minor he saw on the airplane for Abdulmutallab. The well-dressed man was likely an airline employee and the minor may have actually been a Sudanese refugee without a passport, Taylor said.

9. That would certainly be a plausible explanation and, if they've reviewed the tapes,
would be easily demonstrated. I can only imagine why it hasn't been demonstrated, but I'd prefer to know. Show us the refugee with the airline official at the gate and end it.

14. Yes that would help settle things.
The tapes should come forward. I think this country and the world deserve the truth.

5. Well I'm confused!
I admit, I've not read every single thing that has been printed about this story BUT...

did he or did he not have a passport?

did he or did he not have a current visa?

did he or did he not have a well dressed escort at the gate in Amsterdam?

did or did not the couple at the gate see all this?

why wasn't the purchase of the one way ticket with cash FLAGGED by the computer system?

I've heard bits and pieces...but never ANYTHING on the main stream news.

I don't understand.

12. That's the way these stories always go...
Whenever there's a major breaking story, all sorts of bogus stuff and conflicting info gets into your brain. So I follow the rule of
The Bodyguard's Severed Tongue.* Other than the most basic of facts, I disregard the rest of the media yapping. After two or three weeks, when everybody's settled down, more solid information begins to emerge.

*The bodyguard in question is Princess Diana's, the one who survived the Paris car crash. Early reports stated that his tongue had been severed. Even when the Paris hospital and the bodyguard's own doctors denied the story, major news outlets, including Time magazine, still maintained that the bodyguard would never speak again.

10. The "No Passport" story never sounded legit to me....I can't fathom....
..... a major international airport like Schiphol, with a rather extensive security screening program, allowing someone to board an international flight without the proper documentation.
