Pat Robertson Blames Earthquake on Pact Haitians Made with Satan
Source: ABC News

On the Christian Broadcasting Network’s “700 Club” today, after a lengthy interview with a missionary who talked about helping the victims earthquake in Haiti, Rev. Pat Robertson had some interesting thoughts as to why the earthquake struck the impoverished nation:

"And you know, Kristi, something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it.

"They were under the heel of the French, uh, you know Napoleon the 3rd and whatever, and they got together and swore a pact to the Devil.

"They said, 'We will serve you if you'll get us free from the French.'

56. I second the motion!
nearly 300 years of oppression and environmental despoliation and resource theft under the French and the USA, has left Haiti barely able to feed itself and left it's government vulnerable to US policies.
The "devil" has been raping Haiti for a very long time, in the name of "god".
Pat, your failed ministry, lack of compassion and filthy greed have already reserved for you a marvelous seat at the left hand of the Satanic Prince. Enjoy, POS.

PS Earthquakes are caused by activity in tectonic plates, same kind that produces blood diamonds. seems "satan" is busy making baubles for Patty...

29. I think the original devil-pact makers are long gone.
The satanic pact allegedly took place at Bois-Caïman near Cap-Haïtien on August 14, 1791 during a meeting organized by several slave leaders, under Boukman’s leadership, before launching what would become Haiti’s Independence War.”

I guess earthquakes can be predicted. Make a pact with the devil and expect a quake 200 years later.

43. Robertson must live in the Middle Ages
Robertson repeatedly links natural disasters to the will of God.
He is a silly, opportunistic dope who looks for associations in natural events to reinforce his reactionary thinking. He also doesn't have a problem with murder and assassinations of innocent people, as long as it reinforces his perverted concept of god and divine justice.

1998, Orlando, Florida: city officials voted in 1998 to fly rainbow flags from city lampposts during the annual Gay Days (June) event at Disney World. Robertson issued a warning: "I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you. ... condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs, it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes and possibly a meteor."

The first hurricane of the 1998 Atlantic hurricane season, Hurricane Bonnie, actually turned away from Florida and instead damaged the rest of the east coast. The area hardest hit by the hurricane was the Hampton Roads region, which includes Virginia Beach, where the Robertson's 700 Club is broadcast from. Other hurricanes did hit Florida, but none of them hit Disney World. OK, Rev. Roberson, ignore that fact and try to find some other connection.

August, 2005: Robertson called for the death of Hugo Chavez: "You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it."

60. Meanwhile Robertson will try to raise money to "help the Haiti earthquake victims."
I am amazed that anyone gives still gives money to Robertson with his history of "spinning off" for profit businesses from enterprises built up with charitable contributions.

"Robertson lives on the top of a Virginia mountain, in a huge mansion with a private airstrip. He owns the Ice Capades, a small hotel, diamond mines (in Zaire), a vitamin company (Kalo Vita) involved in a multi-level marketing scheme along the lines of Amway, and until recently, International Family Entertainment, parent company of the Family Channel (see below) -- all estimated to be worth between $150-200 million. How does a televangelist, who is supposedly involved in non-profit work, manage to create such a fortune for himself?"

How indeed, and why is this man not doing time for tax fraud?
