JFK terminal being evacuated after security breach
Source: ap

NEW YORK – A terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport was evacuated Saturday after a security breach, officials said.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Steve Coleman said travelers at Kennedy's Terminal 8 were asked to leave so they could be re-screened. He didn't describe the breach.
...
A spokesman for the airline, Charley Wilson, said the breach happened at around 3 p.m. Some flights were being delayed, and two American planes that had landed were waiting on the tarmac for permission to proceed to their gates.
...
The incident is the third evacuation in five months at airports that serve New York City.

1. I wonder what the breech was, exactly -- I haven't heard any specifics. I'd be
dismayed if it was similar to the guy ducking under the security rope that recently occurred.

2. These breeches are suspicious
There have been too many since the underware bomber. The media hyped all of them, so one has to wonder. Is someone orchestrating these?

4. It's not a conspiracy. It's human nature.
Like, after you get your car broken into you get hyper-sensitive about where you park.

It's just reactionary, emotional, and not well thought out responses to any event that is out of the ordinary.

The reason the exact source is probably one of two things... first, it could have been an actual threat and it was stopped. Secondly (and more likely) it was someone reporting something that turned out to be absolutely nothing and would just embarass them to reveal what happened.

Jumping to government conspiracy accusations or even "i wonder if...." without any evidence serves no purpose other tan to make real conspiracies sound like crazy ideas.

If you have ever been to JFK they have those "if you see something, say something" posters everywhere. I am guessing those were the cause.

5. Yes, they've been happening steadily since 911.
Seven years ago I got stuck in the Phoenix airport because some idiot pulled the plug on some piece of equipment, and the security people didn't see who did it so closed the airport. Ever since then I've paid attention, and these closures happen pretty frequently.

3. The TSA really abuses their power!
Like last time when they decided to screw over the poor people at Newark. The Pukes have really created a great resource to punish the "small" people who can't afford a private jet. They're laughing at all of us while their TSA thugs empty the skies to make their travel easier.

6. On the flipside, less planes in the air means
less pollution and climate change due to the high altitude burning of masive quantities of fuel.

You are speaking of the TSA like there is one person making every decision in every airport. That is like blaming the CEO of a company for your supervisor firing you.

The individual threat decisions are made by regular (and often unqualified) people who are being told to report EVERY potential threat to their supervisor. the head of the TSA is not involved in every decision to lock dow the airport.
