Source: NY Daily News

Andrew Cuomo is ready to run for governor.

New York's state attorney general is set to take on Gov. Paterson in the Democratic primary, a source close to Cuomo told the Daily News.

Cuomo spokesman Richard Bamberger declined comment, but a source close to Cuomo told The News, "He will make an announcement at the end of March. And what he will say is that he intends to run for governor. ... He thinks there are a lot of problems in the state and he thinks he can help solve them."

That source is not alone. On Wednesday, a day after Republican Scott Brown won Ted Kennedy's Senate seat in Massachusetts, Stuart Applebaum of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Workers Union urged Cuomo to run, saying Paterson "is not the strongest candidate."

2. I'd rather not see this
Patterson is a good governor, he does what he thinks is right and doesn't pander.

Cuomo has a lot of unfinished business with regards to prosecuting criminals on Wall Street that I'd far rather the be focused on.

4. You must not live in New York
Paterson, along with our utterly dysfunctional legislature, has been a disaster. Combine the fact that he is an accidental governor & the general anti-incumbent fervor out there and we are looking at a Republican governor if Paterson stays in the race.

5. Not anymore
But I remember the last Cuomo as Governor, and am not so sure that you'd be well served by another.

7. look I agree with you that Paterson is a good Governor and I admire that
he does what he believes is the right course of action but the fact is he's very unpopular he has almost no chance to win while Cuomo who has been a great AG is almost a shoe-in.

3. It was kind of obvious that he wanted Albany or the White House, or both.
"shuckin' and jivin'" still bothers me, though.
