AP source: RFK's grandson weighing US House run
Source: AP

By GLEN JOHNSON

BOSTON (AP) - A top Massachusetts Democrat said Saturday that one of Robert F. Kennedy's grandsons is considering carrying on the family's vaunted political tradition by running for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Joseph P. Kennedy III, one of the twin sons of former Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy II, may run this fall if Democratic Rep. William Delahunt decides against seeking re-election in his South Shore and Cape Cod district.

Kennedy, 29, "has been considering it but he hasn't made a decision," said the Democrat, who demanded anonymity to speak about private conversations with the father and son.

The younger Kennedy did not immediately respond to a request for comment. He is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School who works as a prosecutor in Barnstable County, near his family's Cape Cod compound.

2. Good. The Bushes will never give up. We need the Kennedys.
I am not a dynasty person, but Robert Kennedy should have been president, and would he have ever been an improvement over Nixon!

I miss Ted terribly, by the way. His death was in its own way as untimely as his brothers'.

8. so this nitwit expects us to vote for him just because his name is Kennedy?
I have less confidence in him than I do in Patrick Kennedy, who is a totally incompetent embarassment, coasting on name recognition.

Never let it be said that a Kennedy would actually stoop to earning a Democrat's vote, rather than just sitting in the Martha's Vineyard high chair and expecting us to bow down to the Kennedy royalty like ignorant peasants scraping at the master's feet.

12. He and his twin have worked on various Democratic elections
He would have to make a case for himself, but your comment is beyond obnoxious.

14. Amen
I don't know this kid, but his brother Matt worked on the Obama campaign in Manchester. He was a hard-worker, without any pretension about him. In fact, he helped undo a lot of the damage wrought by the far more cliqish band of bozos who ran the campaign's political office during the NH primary.

16. No more political dynasties
I'm tired of Bushs, Kennedys, etc. who are automatically granted access to high office because of their name.

20. An article about him in the Cape Cod Times...
A puff piece but it does give his education and some more background.
