At least three pieces of equipment from the Ogden Fire Department is on the scene.

A spokeswoman for the FBI said the bureau is investigating.

This story will be updated when more information is available.

4. Here's more

Hazardous materials crews were on the scene Monday at the IRS building in Farr West, Utah, where two people were removed on stretchers and several others were undergoing decontamination showers.

The FBI released no information about the incident at the facility in Farr West, near Ogden about 30 miles from Salt Lake City, but local reports suggested that a suspicious white powder may have been found in mail delivered to the facility.

The incident began about 11 a.m. (1 p.m. ET) Monday, 11 days after a Texas man embroiled in a years-long dispute with the IRS crashed his small plane into the agency’s complex in Austin, Texas.

im reminded of the anthrax attacks of 01 when the unpatriotic act was rammed through congress.
it's just all weird.
Maybe both attacks on the IRS are unrelated - aside from the general "I hate the IRS" feeling everyone has.

27. Alot of pain these days...........
In 2009 the IRS seized 403 thousand homes for unpaid taxes.(Just in New York) It reminds me when I went to New Orleans after katrina, I was helping a family clean there house in the Ninth ward and a guy was running around offering people pennies on the dollar for there homes. I wanted to smack the shit out of him, Trying to screw people at there most vulnerable time. Bottom line is people are angry and dont know where to target there frustration, We are in a depression. Breaks my heart seeing the food charity lines in my town, Such proud people waiting hours hoping theres enough food till they get theres.

29. UPDATE: Powder 'non-hazardous'
Powder 'non-hazardous' / Suspicious substance found at IRS, two workers are hospitalized -- 'No connection,' say officials

FARR WEST -- A suspicious substance found at an Internal Revenue Service building here is not hazarous, an official with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service said late Monday afternoon.

Spokesman Pete Rendina told The Associated Press the "matter was non-hazardous."

Two IRS workers were taken to an Ogden hospital after the suspicious substance was found Monday morning in the office building where they work, but officials said their medical emergencies did not appear to be related to the material.

The FBI's Salt Lake City division says it responded to a possible hazardous material threat at the building at 1973 Rulon White Blvd. around 11:15 a.m. Debbie Dujanovic Bertram, public affairs specialist for the FBI, declined to say what sort of substance was involved.

In a statement she said, "The area where the threat was received was isolated by removing employees from that area."

She said some individuals "did suffer medical emergencies which, at this time, do not appear to be related to this incident." Contacted by telephone, she declined to say what sort of medical emergencies were involved.
