Romney accuses Obama of wrongly apologizing for US
Source: Associated Press

BOSTON — Once and possibly future Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney says in a new book that President Barack Obama's international outreach efforts during his first year in office have been "kindling" to the "anti-American fires burning all across the globe."

I believe more and more this is who we're going to run against in 2012 and we'd better prepare to counter all of his idiotic argument.

Mr. Romney: President Obama has killed more terrorists in 1 year than Bush in 8 years.

37. Gee, I thought Mitt had a rifle too. Remember, when he claimed to be a hunter?
That was right between "I strongly favor gun control" and "No, I wasn't actually a hunter. I did shoot varmints as a kid, though."

So, what happened to his varmint shooter?

And why is he hiding behind Palin's skirts (or Palin's waders, as the case may be)?

That reminds me: What is it about Republicans and playing dress up anyway? Are they all 4 years old?

33. Mitt always looks like he's have a bowel movement. He probably wasn't actually in the middle of
passing anything.

O.K., bad joke.

But someone who could really use a good bowel movement, but is holding back because he is on camera, is the impression he gives.

IMO, the lie is that an admission of guilt and/or an apology (which implies guilt) yields hatred.

Heck, when a criminal shows no repentance, we cite that as a reason to sentence harshly.

And just think of your own life. When someone does wrong, owns up to it, and apologizes, it's much easier to move on. You certainly don't hate them for the apology.

Plus, Obama never took all the blame. It was always along the lines of, "We made mistakes, but so did the rest of you."

29. I heard someone say Romneycare was the model for the feds.
Hope those folks know that Romney lied about the cost.

BTW, the person who deserves credit for passing health care in Massachusetts was the late, great Ted Kennedy.

The Democratic state legislature and Romney were at an impasse. Kennedy banged their heads together until they came to agreement. Whether that was a good thing or a bad thing, someone else will have to decide. I'd cut out my tongue first.

28. How dare you imply Mitt smokes? Smoking was a sin when Mitt was a young 'un
shooting varmints (or hunting, or favoring gun control, depending upon which day and State it is). He was much too religious to commit the sin of smoking. (True, he was pro-choice and pro-gay, but that was only when he ran against Kennedy for the Senate and when he ran for Governor of Massachusetts, to save the State from Democrats, so it wasn't really a sin.)

The rest of what you said is spot on, though.

What an outrageous and stupid slogan that is.

It assumes that the true measure of success for defeating terrorism is body counts.

42. Disagree totally
If you read Bob Woodwards' "State of Denial: Bush at War, Part III" you will see that Bush was totally fixated on body counts when seeking indicators for success in his various war.

This made his Generals cringe, since body counts were seen by them as mostly counter-productive in defeating insurgents.

Obama needs to defend his approach to foreign affairs without pretending that he is (stupidly) out-Bushing Bush.

47. Didn't the Democrats support the Iraq war?
I may be wrong, but it seems the Democrats supported the Iraq war, voted for the Patriot Act. Also, Clinton bombed Yugoslavia in 1999, and sent US troops to be defeated in Somalia in 1993. The problem, you see, is US militarism, and it is something which infects many Americans, of all parties. And the country has a problem, because its foreign policy is aimed largely to support Israel, which most people around the world think is a rogue nation. The Democrats, of course, are very much in the hands of the Israel lobby.

49. Republican Politicians and their grunts are Pathological Liars
and/or sociopaths... To lie in a Democracy, or what's left of the efforts made by prior generations, you need to realize you are giving the people you wish to represent, a bad choice. If you need to lie you forfeit whatever point of view you claim to have. It happens all the time, but it's much more extreme with Republicans, a very disconnected bunch of people.

John Kerry was stupid enough to try that, and he had his ass handed to him.

No, the better route is to deconstruct the "terrorism" construction entirely. People are smarter than you think (I know, I can't believe I am saying that), and it is beginning to completely break down.

The politics of fear and the power of nightmares must be exposed, not reinforced by arguing that we're more better at fear than the Republicans are.
