Reporter: More than 200 dead in Nigeria violence
Source: AP

JOS, Nigeria — More than 200 bodies — many of them women and children — lay in the streets of a central Nigerian town after a renewed spate of Christian-Muslim violence, witnesses said Sunday, just months after religious violence tore through a nearby city and left hundreds dead.

Yemi Kosoko, a reporter with the independent Nigerian news network Channels, told The Associated Press most of the bodies appeared to be women and children killed by blows from machetes. Kosoko said the dead lined the streets of Dogo Nahawa, a village about three miles (five kilometers) south of the city of Jos.

Kosoko said he made the count Sunday afternoon with an official from the state government. Military units began surrounding the affected villages around the same time, said Red Cross spokesman Robin Waubo. Waubo said the agency did not know how many people may have died in the the fighting, though officials have been sent to local morgues and hospitals.

Witnesses said the violence began in the mostly Christian village at about 3 a.m. Sunday — an hour when the area should have been under curfew and guarded by the military. Jos has remained under a curfew since violence in January left more than 300 people dead — the majority of them Muslims.

you would really have to live there to appreciate the how sad and sick it has become under Jihad..
Edited on Sun Mar-07-10 04:53 PM by sam sarrha
the Jihadi's had women and children captives.. soon to be sex slaves. i used to hang out with the Moors in Africa.. they accepted Islam only to make life livable. they didn't like the Muslims, they stoled the Moor's children and sold them into slavery.. there were open slave markets 'On The Streets'.. like buy'n a used car, this was in the city that loaded the slaves on sailing ships bound for america.. and the Caribbean

i went to the island of Goree where they had the holding cells, chains still in the walls. there is still a big slave trade.. just google it.

it was a 'military action'. they have their own rules there. i have videos of ritual be-headings by the Jihadi's in Nigeria of christians, actually pretty minor compared to what else the Jihadi's are doing to the indigenous Christians in their on going systematic genocide in the area to establish an Islamic state controlled by Sharia law.. maybe that's why there are such public executions.. they in no way tried to hide it. it isn't the worst that goes on there.. after a while it is just what happens all the time.. you just pray it doesn't happen to you. after a while it probably just gets to the level of good riddance after enough of your family is murdered in a coordinate genocide.. which isn't covered at all for years by the media.. and when it is it is portrayed without historical background information

4. here is some info.. there is a black-out of media coverage there >Link>
Edited on Sun Mar-07-10 03:47 PM by sam sarrha
this event was a military response to organized terrorism, in tribal areas there are no secrets about who does what. i doubt many local people were shocked or grieving about the terrorists being off'd, that is why they did it publicly.. they in no way tried to cover it up.

this is what's going on..

7. Hundreds killed in Nigeria attack (Al-Jazeera)
Here is Al-Jazeera's reporting on this tragic story:

Hundreds killed in Nigeria attack

UPDATED ON:
Monday, March 08, 2010
04:55 Mecca time, 01:55 GMT

Gregory Yenlong, the commissioner for information for Plateau State, said more than 300 people had died and our correspondent said most of the victims were women and children.

The office of Nigeria's acting president said Goodluck Jonathan had "directed that the security services undertake strategic initiatives to confront and defeat these roving bands of killers", who it blamed for "causing considerable death and injury".

Officials from the central government were holding an emergency meeting, she said, adding that there was now a heavy police presence in the area to prevent any reprisal attacks.

According to a Red Cross official, at least two other nearby communities were also targeted, in an area close to where sectarian clashes killed hundreds of people in January.

It was not immediately clear what triggered the latest unrest, but four days of sectarian clashes in January between mobs armed with guns, knives and machetes left hundreds of people dead in Jos, which lies at the crossroads of Nigeria's Muslim north and predominantly Christian south.

The tension appears rooted in resentment between indigenous, mostly Christian groups, and migrants and settlers from the Hausa-speaking Muslim north, all vying for control of fertile farmlands.

8. Aljazeera is a Muslim Unit. under Sharia law criticizing Islam is a death sentence..so...
i check them out on occasion to see what they are doing, but using them as a credible news link is really unacceptable and unwise.

what is happening is Jihad, Islamification of the country.. there is an established long time ongoing un-reported Jihadi Genocide of the southern peoples. the Military went in because of increased violence due to a refused amnesty offer and there were about 170 women and children said to be captives by the muslims. they have been kidnapping and slaving the locals. the Terrorists could have killed them to blame the government.. they could have been collateral damage.. we are good at that too. it looks like the building they were in burned to the ground, that is probably where many of the dead parished.

those executed were un doubted-ly known Terrorists and their close associates, some videos show the terrorist leaders dead and identify them... and members of their militia. we do this same thing all the time in Afghanistan and iraq with our Predator drones. the military made no attempt to hide the executions.. they did what they did the way they did it to reassure the southern peoples. it wont take you long to find Videos of those militias ritually, while Reading the Koran, cutting off the Christians heads with a knife.. i have collected many of them for people who don't believe it. you could find those videos on Aljazeera, they show them in total.

it was tragic, but i doubt any of the Christian locals will be shedding any tears over this, they save those for family members and friends murdered by Jihadi terrorists. it is a called a civil war.. but the christians are fighting for their lives and the north is killing for god, and an expansionist ideology.

my wifes brother is an NGO working there to help the refugees from the conflict.

the problem is compounded by a corrupt government..

12. ignorant about what.. in Sharia Law putting islam in a situation to be criticized, or criticizing
islam, will get you a death sentence.. even from a country you don't live in, especially if you are a muslim. so they cant report anything they do that is bad, so what is left..

i am sure they have interesting things on there, but you wont see anything meaningful about news, it isn't independant... or islam

read Nonie Darwish's book 'Cruel and Unusual Punishment' cheap used on Amazon.. i have done a lot of study on Islam, Islamification, Jihad.. human rights regarding women, children, slavery.. i lived in an Islamic Republic.. you gave no reason why you are so angry.. just insults. i can guess tho

10. It may be a gross oversimplification to portray such incidents in Nigeria as
conflicts between "Christians" and "Muslims"

Nigeria has hundreds of distinct ethnic groups, speaking hundreds of different languages. It has groups that are traditionally nomadic pastoralists and groups that are traditionally settled village dwellers. Modernization has created a small prosperous upper class, together with a large number of desperately impoverished people displaced from their land. A number of homeless people sereve as migrant workers. As expected in such a social situation, crime rates are high. The taking of persons for sale in the slave trade is not uncommon. In short, there are many material sources of social conflict

... hundreds of herdsmen launched coordinated attacks about 3 a.m. on three villages Dogo Nahawa, Ratsat and Zot, about six miles south of Jos. The herdsmen charged the villages, firing in the air, then cut down villagers as they fled their huts, witnesses said. "Some people, whom we believed to be pastoralists attacked three villages including our own with machetes, killing and burning people," said Fidelis Tawkek, of Dogo Nahawa village in a phone interview yesterday afternoon. "They burned down most of the houses. They killed many women and children ...
