U.N. chief chides Israel for confidentiality breach

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday criticized Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman for releasing information about what Ban said was a confidential telephone call between the two men.

"I'm troubled by just a unilateral announcement," Ban told reporters when asked about media reports that Lieberman had urged the secretary-general to be more balanced with Israel.

"That is regrettable," said Ban, who was visibly upset. "Normal diplomatic practice is that you agree in advance" on the release of information about such conversations to the media.

Ban added that that the point of that practice is "to preserve confidentiality and diplomatic and political sensitivities."

2. World Wrestling Smackdown has nothing on the battle of egos that
the press presents to us as "Middle East" news.

Issues? Issues? We don't need no stinking issues.

5. and that's his good side.

6. But Avigdor Lieberman is not your run-of-the-mill politician.
Wiki him, read about him, come to know more about who he is, who his friends are, what he supports and how he behaves.

That's all.

You can pick any sources you like.

7. We are living in an Age of of Adolescence,
between she said,
he said,
they said,
you said,
did not,
did too,
no I didn't,
yes you did,
she made me,
but they do it,
why can I be like him,
they always get away with it,
tell them this,
tell them that,
they lie,
no they dont,
yes they do,
I always tell the truth
you always lie
when did they know
why did they snitch
why are they doing this
why
why
why
Instead of being led, by REAL Leaders who wish the BEST for PEOPLE
WE ARE LED BY Adolescents who NARROW their choices down to a few select individuals.

8. Oddly, it sounds like a unilateral announcement.
Well, not so much an announcement as a statement.

On the other hand, isn't Ban just saying that what Ban was told by Lieberman is confidential? I.e., that Lieberman isn't allowed to say what he himself said? That to preserve Ban's privacy and the confidentiality that Ban would want Lieberman had to keep quiet about what Lieberman said?

I can only imagine if Lieberman had repeated or made claims about what Ban had said. If Ban's trust was violated by having not-what-Ban-said repeated, what would repeating what-Ban-said be?
