No CBO score tonight, Pelosi's office says
Source: The Hill

House Democrats will not post a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate of the revised healthcare bill tonight, according toSpeaker Pelosi's (D-Calif.) office.

Pelosi spokesman Nadeam Elshami told reporters gathered outside the Speaker's office, that a a CBO score would not be forthcoming.

"Go home," Elshami said, avoiding questions of the implication not having the scores online means to the timing of a final vote.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) admitted that if the scores are posted on Thursday, and Democrats honor the 72-hour rule, then the vote would "most likely happen on Sunday, if that scenario plays out."

1. WHAT in the world is that much different in this revision that
the CBO is having such a hard time analysing? I'm usually inpressed with their promptness & ability, but this one's a puzzle.

4. It doesn't say the CBO hasn't complete the analysis -
it says that the House Dems won't POST it . . . and that it wouldn't be 'forthcoming'.

Sounds like they're delaying a bit of unpleasant news.

5. CBO posts whenever they please. They don't have to wait for the Democrats' say so.
This is idle and stupid speculation on your part.

12. Maybe. Maybe not. But, whoever controls jobs and pay raises at the CBO can be very persuasive.

8. The CBO is doing their job..
The House Leadership just doesn't like the result. They rewrite portions and hope for a better score, then send it back off to CBO and hope for a more appealing result.

2. That's it, I've had it
CLOSE DOWN THE CBO.

You want less, smaller government? Fine, shut down the CBO. Lock, stock and barrel. Did Henry Clay have to clear his Compromise of 1850 with the paper pushing bureaucrats at CBO? Did FDR have to clear Social Security with these number crunching nerds? (who probably didn't get laid until they were 30).

Close it all down.

3. Does it matter? i doubt it will make it through the Senate.
It is too good a bill to get passed there.

7. Must be Mega Numbers Crunching...Our Dem Op's said # Released this Afternoon & vote on Sat.
So now the vote is Sunday...because they are in the basement or wherever "crunching numbers."

I wish all the rest of the Bills that House and Senate do (like for WAR FUNDING) would have to wait for the CBO to "crunch the numbers." :eyes:
