Head of Birther Movement Runs for Calif. Office
Source: San Francisco Chronicle

A California attorney who leads a movement challenging President Barack Obama's citizenship plans to run for secretary of state in November.

Orange County Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley said Wednesday that Orly Taitz, a leader of the so-called birther movement, has qualified as a candidate.

She plans to challenge fellow Republican Damon Dunn, a former NFL player living in Irvine, for her party's nomination.

Taitz has filed multiple lawsuits that claim Obama wasn't born in the U.S.

Taitz, a native of the former Soviet Union, is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

...and how do I know they are really the real ones? A neighbor of my friend's brother-in-law says they're fake. And I believe this 3rd party connection more than I do your fake and phoney papers.

28. Even if you see the REAL papers, how do you know she did not lie to get them?
I think you need the back up. Her application for citizenship, and the documentation she provided to get it, including citizenship in her alleged country of origin.

Ultimately, you WILL have to see the original birth certificate. I see no rational way around it.

5. Appeals Court Upholds $20,000 Fine Against Orly Taitz
March 16, 2010, 8:50AM

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected Orly Taitz's appeal of the $20,000 fine imposed on her for making frivolous filings in a long-running Birther case.

"We have fully considered Taitz's arguments," the ruling from a three-judge panel reads. "We find them unpersuasive and therefore affirm the district court's sanctions judgment."

A federal judge in Georgia imposed the sanction on Taitz in October, blasting her for, among other things, using "the courts as a platform for a political agenda disconnected from any legitimate legal cause of action."

12. Damon Dunn is 34 and only voted once?
Says he retired from the NFL? Does one really retire after playing only 2 seasons with the NFL? And the last team he played with was the LA Xtreme in 2001. I didn't know it was a NFL team.

From his website:
At Stanford Damon had a record setting college football career, ran track and earned many academic and athletic awards, including the NCAA Academic Scholarship, All-PAC 10 Honors and Academic All-Pac 10 Honors, and the NFL and College Hall of Fame Award.

I'm really confused. I think it says he that he was inducted in the NFL Hall of Fame and College Hall of Fame. I seriously doubt they would had inducted someone that only played a couple of years. And I couldn't even find him in the supposed College Hall of Fame or College Football Hall of Fame.

21. Say what you want about Orly Taitz, she's endlessly entertaining.
I once spent a whole evening following links from one newspaper story about her to another. Did y'all know she paid some of her legal assistants in sex? At least one, anyway-- a disbarred lawyer who was married to someone else, while she was also married to someone else. And, she was pushing two different "Kenyan birth certificates" at the same time.

23. I hope Orly Tatitz never gets a foothold here in California..
But then again, this state elected Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, so thats not accounting much on taste. There are a lot of smart people here though, I am sure the word will get out about her to the point that she will be hounded. Maybe Arianna Huffington at the Huffington Post will help out with that..

It's simply people scattered around the country who share the same all too well publicized misconception.

Calling it a "movement" dignifies it way too much.

38. Orly Taitz, Head of Birther Movement, to Run for CA Sec of State
Source: Washingtonpost.com

Orly Taitz, Orange County based dentist/lawyer and leader of the of the birther movement, is planning to run for California Secretary of State. The SF Gate reports:

Orange County Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley said Wednesday that Orly Taitz, a leader of the so-called birther movement, has qualified as a candidate.

She plans to challenge fellow Republican Damon Dunn, a former NFL player living in Irvine, for her party's nomination.

Taitz made a name for herself last summer at the height of the "let's all forge up some birth certificates" craze. Watch below for a particularly memorable meltdown on MSNBC.

45. This is just another moneymaking scheme for that skank ho, lol.
This is how it works: her adoring minions send lots of money to her "campaign". She puts on just enough events to make it look good, but uses most of the money for hair bleach and push-up bras and mascara (which have GOT to be her biggest single expense in life, right?). She reaps financial benefits personally and evades paying income taxes. At least temporarily.

You can't blame her, really. She is just taking advantage of all the opportunities for getting rich quick that America offers to the slightly ethically challenged.

48. I attended the Financial reporting workshop
at the OC Registrar of Voters' office Tuesday evening. About halfway through the 2 hour workshop, taitz signed herself in. I recognized her immediately because her eyelashes preceded her by at least a foot. I wondered then if she was there to run for County Clerk so she could supervise the filing of birth certificates.

Maybe I will change my registration to rethuglican....there are some real whackos running on the RW side we should make certain get on the general election ballot. Their losses would shut them up for quite a while.

53. This is a sample of just how bad things are in CA these days.
Thanks to reagan and his dismantling of the middle class through his neocon blindness, and jarvis and his "tax reform" that gutted California of any resemblence of a social network....CA is sinking to the bottom of the cesspool.

It's sad. A beautiful state. LOADS of great people. And a government that serves no one.
