Senate panel passes bank reform on party-line vote
Source: CBS Marketwatch

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch)-- A Senate panel on Monday approved sweeping bank reform legislation to re-write the rule for capitalism without any Republican support, after GOP lawmakers on the committee decided not to include any amendments to the measure. Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, had senators vote on the underlying 1,336 page bill, without any Democratic amendments. The bill was passed with a 13-10 party-line vote. Dodd and Republicans are expected to see whether an agreement can be reached to create a bipartisan bill before it comes up for a vote by the full Senate. Dodd said senators will have a chance to introduce amendments when the bill is considered by the Senate.

4. I kind of wonder if anything requiring full Senate vote will
get passed again. They have repeal stations set up already at a couple of grocery stores at the shopping center I go to. The lines for signing were pretty long. I also got a Repeal It pamphlet on my car. This is going to be interesting. 8 States and possible three more on-line to file suit against the health care bill. I've never seen anything like this before at the Federal level.

5. Typical. Those pig fuckers.
And to Dodd, too, that man cannot pass up an opportunity to show his ass in public after taking his stupid pills. Bipartisanship? Really? Everyone with functioning brain cells should know that you cannot reason with crazy people.

6. Dems have so much to work with come Nov. if only
they will step up and do the right thing without the Republicans and then call them out when it's time to go to the polls. I see a gold mine, will the Dems take advantage?

7. before it comes up for a vote by the full Senate.
Where all bills now go to die. Nothing will ever pass again as long as Republicans do not believe in America and Democracy..In America voters determine who they want to make decisions for them, and they do that by Majority rule..They expect the same from Congress. If Republicans insist upon blocking the will of the people through an arcane process such as the filibuster then those arcane rules need to be addressed and adjusted or eliminated. Republicans are scared to death that if the Democrats are allowed to Govern that America will never elect another Republican again so they have to keep Democrats from governing at all costs..
