FBI Investigating Threats Against Democrats
Source: CBS News

<snip>

Other House Democratic leaders who supported the bill area also concerned about their personal safety. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says more than 10 Democratic lawmakers have reported incidents. Hoyer adds that the FBI and Capitol Police briefed Democrats on how to handle perceived security threats.

The FBI says that all threats and incidents directed against members of Congress are taken seriously and are being investigated by the FBI. The bureau's Washington field office issued the statement.

The FBI statement added that U.S. Capitol Police and other law enforcement agencies also are investigating to identify and bring to justice those responsible.

...

Hoyer said Democrats were talking to the Republican leadership and hoped to come up with a united front on the security issue.

House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio said in a statement that while many Americans are angry over passage of the health care bill, "violence and threats are unacceptable.

"That's not the American way," Boehner said. "We need to take that anger and channel it into positive change."

9. Kosmas' office reports threats over health care vote (Florida Today)
BY DAVE BERMAN • FLORIDA TODAY • MARCH 25, 2010

... Mark Goldberg, communications director for Kosmas, said some of the e-mails have been forwarded to Capitol Police in Washington for follow-up and investigation.

He said some of the e-mails imply that Kosmas, her family and staff should be worried about their safety, while others say she should “rot in hell” for her vote Sunday in favor of the legislation, which was signed into law Tuesday.

3. Statements are not going to stop these people
They've been egged on since before the election by Palin, Beck, Rush and the rest of them. People need to be investigated, arrested and imprisoned.

6. Oh my goodness!
Looks like a national crisis. Time for the president to activate his super powers, thanks to the previous president's preparation of emergency war powers, and round these rascals up and throw away the key. Maybe even elicit some confessions from the worst of them on TV.

That ought to teach them, and all the rest of us, how ignorantly we all let the president decide what constitutes a crisis and then, without checks or restraints, do about whatever he decides needs doing.

7. I like it
Let them see what a "Real" dictator can do. They didn't mind it when knucklehead had the power to lock us up if he felt like it.

8. We will get no help from FBI or any other law enforcement
The Anthrax attacks on Daschle and Leahy were never even investigated. This won't be either. Violence against Dems and liberals isn't even really a crime in the US.

10. During the 9-11 attacks, Ashcroft had the FBI...
scouring the streets of New Orleans for hookers. Despite their large contingent of agents, they only found 9.

FBI had no problems finding stuff to investigate about Clinton. Starr was quite pleased with their results.

9 years later, anthrax attackers still somewhat mysterious even though the perp probably has died of 'old age.'

And now, this bunch of lawyer-accountants are investigating threats against our leadership...looking under one rock after another. Bet they find nothing.
