A security worker at London's Heathrow Airport has received a police warning and faces disciplinary action over claims he ogled a female colleague using a full-body scanner, officials said yesterday. The 25-year-old worker made lewd comments after his colleague Jo Margetson, 29, mistakenly strayed into the scanner, which can see through clothes to produce an image of the body, the Sun newspaper reported.

The case is believed to be the first of its kind since the full-body scanners were rushed into service at a number of British airports in the wake of an attempt by a suspected Muslim extremist to blow up a plane bound for Detroit on December 25.

They are now being rolled out at airports across the world. Details of the incident at Heathrow's Terminal 5 on March 10 emerged on the day lawmakers said concerns that the scanners were intrusive had been overblown.

Margetson told the Sun she had been "traumatized" by what had happened and had informed police and her bosses at the airport's operator BAA.

Not defending him, but lots of men would say SOMETHING in that situation. Sure, he likely said too much though. Kind of like if you're at the beach and a woman in front of you has a nipple slip (you didn't go out of your way to see it, and she didn't do it on purpose). It's hard to just ignore it. :)

and got the fully body scan for the 1st time.

I asked the guy running the machine if I could see the image and his comment was that he never sees it, just the green light or red light comes on. The image is viewed "elsewhere"

18. I was frisked the other day -of course I was high risk....

I was holding hands with my pilot-husband who was in uniform and wearing his ID badges.

The TSA person told me I was "random".

My husband says they want to make sure they don't find anything because then it's less work for them.

I know someone who works for the Justice Department who is ALWAYS "randomly" selected, perhaps because of an incident wherein they had DoJ documents in a terrorism case that they would not let the TSA lackey look at because they were not cleared to do so. The TSA always also suspect federal law enforcement folks of traveling with a weapon, and always want to search them, so many will present civilian id to avoid the hassle, even when traveling on official business.

When I was pregnant, they always scanned my belly while asking if it is a boy or girl and what was I going to name it. I guess I was high risk then and of course high risk since I was holding a pilots hand.

Unbelievable.

I think general harassment of the law enforcement types, pilots, and FFDO's is a matter of course for sure. I'd like to take a look at the TSA's procedures. I think they pull these types over in an effort to reverse discriminate so they skew the stats so they won't be accused of "profiling".

I tried searching around for some of the sample pics and that was pretty much all you could see. I guess it would be embarrassing if you have funny boobs or something.

you can make out the guy's crack. If it can image that level of detail, there's no reason it can't pick out detailed outlines of breasts and genitals.

These include airport security, tow truck driver and collection agent among others, the very willingness to do the above work can only come out of an abusive authoritarian personality.

A number of years ago one of my friends had an altercation at LAX after a TSA screener began describing, in spanish and in explicit detail what he wished to do with her breasts. She complained, the TSA screener denied it and claimed she had made threats. Hilarity ensued.

When you hire the scum of the earth and give them unchecked authority this is what happens, if it were another passenger who complained they might have been tasered or worse.

He took his pants off and threw them on the x ray machine. He then collected his pants hung them neatly over this arm and strolled down the terminal. No one said a word, because if they had, the plane wasn't going anywhere.
