Harry Mitchell (D-Ariz) gets death threats over health care vote

U.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell, D-Ariz., has received death threats over his vote in favor of federal health care reforms.

“Congressman Mitchell’s life was threatened both prior to and following the vote,” said press secretary Adam Bozzi.

Bozzi said Mitchell also received a death threat at his Tempe home and someone left a note about health care with coal and dog feces at his congressional office in suburban Phoenix.

Bozzi said the congressman has not asked for additional security. Congressional leaders have said other members voting for the health care package also received threats and have asked for more security.

He's my rep. He was actually on the fence prior to his vote.

I put 90% of the blame on the individuals themselves but there have been demonizing ads in the week leading up to the vote about the 'Arizona 3' that could be the deciding votes in the 'government takeover of health care'.

I didn't fully support the bill but the GOP misinformation machine has been very despicable in regards to the slogans such as 'Obamacare', 'government takeover of heath care', etc. They really contributed a lot to anger the opposition which scares me.
