Texas representative threatened after voting for health care bill
Source: Dallas Morning News

WASHINGTON – A Democratic congressman from Houston told police this week that his staff received threatening phone calls after he voted for health care legislation.

Rep. Al Green said the calls were fielded by an aide, who Green requested not be identified. The first call, received Tuesday, was made by someone who said "health care was his last vote," the aide said. The second caller told Green "to watch himself once he returned to the district."

Green said his staff decided to report the calls to the U.S. Capitol Police. A Capitol police spokeswoman didn't return a phone call seeking comment.

"Whether the person had ill will or ill intent, if things are said that may be of harm to you, you take the person seriously," Green said. "But you don't let them stop you from doing what you know to be right."

3. If a single elected Democratic official is physically harmed, let alone killed,
I predict it will be the END of the Republican party as we know it. They will never recover from the backlash against them for inciting this.

8. No, they will
write it off as a bad apple, and the media will let them get away with it.

Senator Sherrod Brown condemned the toxic political climate, referring to Congress Minority Leader John Boehner.

"The top Republican is from Southwest Ohio. He tells a sitting member of Congress he's a dead man. It's absolutely unacceptable," Brown said.

5. Republicans needed to EXPAND their base, and this is what they
excuse and expect to regain power?

Have you heard McCain's defense of Palin's target and reload graph? What an irresponsible ass he is, some maverick.

6. Perhaps they intend to rely on the threat of poll violence
instead?

7. At this point all I see is that they are destroying themselves, and my
concern is that someone may get hurt!
