Armed robbers raid Swiss casino
Source: Cnn.com

About 10 men armed with pistols and small machine guns raided a casino in Switzerland and made off into France with several hundred thousand Swiss francs in the early hours of Sunday morning, police said.

2. Could be
Usually, I'd think a group might lay low for awhile after getting away with $1.36 million. But one never knows...

5. Several hundred thousand? Sounds as ill-conceived as an Austin Powers archenemy's plans.

8. Sounds like a Guy Ritchie movie.
You could get some of the cast members of "Snatch", "The Transporter", maybe even Simon Pegg.

9. 300,000/10 = 30,000 each? That's around 28K USD.
Not exactly a big haul, and since they didn't get into the vault, it seems like a poorly planned heist.

10. Unless they put a gun to the head of the guy running the electronic accounts.
And have one of their hackers several miles away supervising the transactions.

11. Clearly French
The robbers spoke French. Swiss just don't do that, and they don't know anyone in France whose car they could borrow, particularly not in Basel. It's also 42 km to Delémont.

Why is it that the French are always being blamed for crime in Switzerland?

12. How did they get across the international boundary?
Since Switzerland is not EU, it still has customs/immigration agents at border crossings.
