BOSTON —

The case against alleged Craigslist killer Philip Markoff returns to Suffolk Superior Court Monday for another administrative hearing.

Markoff, 24, was not expected to attend the court session.

<snip>

Late last month, Judge Frank Gaziano granted a Suffolk County prosecutor’s request to get a DNA sample from Markoff.

The judge said the DNA sample could only be used to compare “with biological evidence recovered in the case.”

1. I'd love to read a psychologist's profile of this ass....
I have to think he was a lifelong sociopath--but how did he get as far as he did? Given they will not allow his DNA to be compared with anything but the crime scene, I'm betting this may NOT be his first major crime

3. There's no need to profile him
They have him. Profiling is done to help identify a perpetrator. Far more useful data in this case would be obtained from a forensic psychological evaluation (which would only be done in the event of competency/sanity issues).

5. Of course I do
There's just been a lot of stuff on television about "profilers." They have had some conspicuous failures as well as successes, though. I think forensic psychology is more interesting, and more scientifically valid, than much of the work that is called "profiling."

2. love the limitation of use of the DNA ... comparison limited to "evidence recovered in the case"
makes me wonder how many other "unsolved" cases this guy could be a suspect for ...

how much do you want to bet that this guy was all for DNA sampling of "criminals" (read: ni**ers) to match up against evidence ...
