Democrats Gain in Ohio (Gov/Sen)
Source: Political Wire

A new Quinnipiac poll finds that Democrats are having a mini-surge in Ohio and now lead in both the U.S. Senate and Governor's races.

In the Senate race, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher (D) leads Rob Portman (R) 41% to 37%, reversing a three point Portman lead in February. Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner (D) also edges Portman, 38% to 37%, reversing a five point Portman lead.

In the gubernatorial race, Gov. Ted Strickland (D) leading challenger John Kasich (R), 43% to 38%.

Ohioans who encounter Portman should be sure to press him on whether he going to sign on to the "Repeal" movement...

16. Maybe, maybe not.
From what I have read Ohio and other northern states are probably going to be losing some seats after the census is over due to them losing some of their population to the south who are gaining seats. Hopeful though the influx of those from the north to the south will allow more democrats to win seats (assuming the democrats are about to undo all the gerrymandering the republicans have done down here) so it might even out in the end, we will just have to wait and see.

3. Go Ohio!
They actually have a Socialist running for Senate and I plan to donate to his campaign.

It's nice to see economically depressed states leaning Democratically instead of being duped into thinking if they vote for "I'll lower your taxes" Republicans that they'll be saved.

4. Please Ohio - keep up the momemtum
Amazing - one watered down healthcare bill passes and Democrats are surging. Imagine if they implement some real reforms going forward?

13. If Republicans continue to be jerks, we may see gains anyway.

From listening to Kasich one would think Strickland single handedly caused the economic meltdown. They all lie, every single one. "If their lips are moving....."

10. 40th anniversary of May 4th shootings this year
Reminds me of that bastard Republican Gov. Rhodes. :puke: Ohio should have been consistently Democratic ever since then.

14. I think Portman is on a short list of 3 Republicans named in a DNC mailing.
Only the DNC did not use crosshairs or the language of violence, like arse Palin.

17. This probably IS good news...................
From what I understand, Ohio is a bellweather state. If Dems are doing better, it's got to be a good thing. BTW, Isn't this a Republican seat now?
