(Rapper) LL Cool J: Fox News 'misrepresenting' Sarah Palin's new show
Source: WP

Those who were surprised at reports that LL Cool J would be a guest on Thursday's debut of Sarah Palin's Fox News show were right to be incredulous. The rapper is now accusing the network of "misrepresenting" an old clip in its ads to make it appear that he was interviewed for Palin's show.

"Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW," LL Cool J wrote on his Twitter feed Tuesday night.

...

In response, Fox News cut LL Cool J from the ad and the show. "Real American Stories features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith's interview fit that criteria," a spokesperson told Mediabistro. (LL Cool J's real name is James Todd Smith.) "However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career."

"Real American Stories' debuts Thursday at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.

5. I'd fucking sue them after that assholy reply.
They deliberately took an old interview from it's original show, then used it as a ad for Palin's show, without permission, and were apparently going to air it, without permission, to imply he supports Palin. Then when he bitches, they insult his motives and belittle his career. The twerp that gave that reply should be fired, but he's obviously a Republican so he's safe.

11. If Cool J owns the show, then he's got a grievance
if Fox owns the video, then they can do with it what they wish and Cool J has to deal with it. The SCROTUS has already said that they don't have to present truth to viewers.

And that twerp will be promoted and given a raise before they cut him loose. Hubris is an amazing thing.

6. "fledgling acting career"
Sounds pretty "fair and balanced" to me.

:sarcasm: for the snark impaired.

25. From now on, we should say "Sarah Palin's fledgling political career."
It's way shorter than Cool J's acting career. His credits go back to 1986.

7. Just enough snark to show that they're very uneasy about this Sarah-y Palin-y thing.

3. I never knew his real name..they couldn't even use
the name he goes by ..LL Cool J.

As to his acting career..he's doing an awesome job on NCIS LA. We(the audience/his fans )couldn't be happier with him. The writing and the acting is stellar.

And, palin's interviewing..the hatemonger who incites violence? Meanwhile the teahadists are threatening Rep Grayson's 5 year old son?!!

10. I think that was them taking a shot at him
In their minds, I am pretty sure that by using his real name, Mr. Smith, they felt they were somehow harming him. I never knew his real name and Mr. Smith doesn't sound as cool as LL Cool J, so this was probably their lame attempt at trying to take him down a notch.

19. I agree it was a lame attempt at harming him

I just wanted to point out musically "Mr. Smith" was a name of an album of his from the mid-90's. He also released the album "Todd Smith" a few years ago.

Edited to add "Mr. Smith" was a very good album.

12. they always do that
I never knew his real name..they couldn't even use the name he goes by ..LL Cool J.

If you ever notice that when rappers/hip hop artists who have stage names are mentioned in news programs, the media will always disclose what their given name is.

8. Cool J's acting career has been established for some time now
it's not a fledgling career. I guess they missed that sit com he was on, plus various movies he's done.

Just like these assholes to diminish Cool J's credentials when their nuts got caught in the vice.

20. I'm glad I saw this article on DU.

I really thought SP interviewed him for her show.

My second thought was how could he do that?

GLAD Someone posted this on DU.

I think a lot of people still think he accepted and did and interview with her.

22. And her show will be a "hit"
and the liberals will probably outnumber the tea baggers because everyone wants to see a wreck.
It will probably be awful but the tea baggers will swear she is the reincarnation of Eward R Morrow and the liberals will be outraged at the stupidity.

And as far as Fox is concerned it did it's job in keeping us busy watching the shinny things while they plan for victory.
