FedEx launches new electric truck initiative
Source: Green Technology Daily

FedEx Corp. will add the first all-electric parcel delivery trucks to its U.S. fleet in June. To celebrate the addition of these new trucks to their fleet, FedEx launched a “Charge Up Route 66” tour in Chicago with the unveiling of the first FedEx electric delivery truck.

FedEx has more than 1,800 alternative-fueled vehicles and equipment in service in the U.S. and internationally.

8. The President of Fedex has spoken at hearings on alternative energy
In 2007, a hearing that Kerry and Snowe had with Fred Smith, the CEO of Fed Ex was part of what they used to get enough people to agree to first increase in CAFE standards in 2 decades. I can't link to that as apparently none of the old hearings are on the Small Business site - though there is a search to get them so they likely will return.

Last year, he was at this hearing Kerry had on the SFRC - http://foreign.senate.gov/hearings/hearing/20090512_3/

( Fred Smith, though a conservative, is a Kerry friend since Yale. It was Smith, who Kerry flew planes with when he was a senior in college. )
