NC GOP Wants National Party Head Steele to Quit

The chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party has asked Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele to resign amid increased scrutiny of lavish spending by the national party.

State GOP Chairman Tom Fetzer wrote a letter on Thursday to Steele requesting that he step down to ensure Republicans maximize gains during the mid-term elections. A spokesman for Fetzer says he's the first state party chairman to call for Steele's resignation.

Steele has taken heat recently after the committee paid a nearly $2,000 bill at a sex-themed nightclub in Los Angeles. The RNC fired a staffer it blamed for the outing.

I certainly hope he's not gay, since he's engaged (or maybe even recently married), and to a woman in her early 20s I believe, so I take him at his word. I'm sure he wouldn't use a nice young woman like that.
