Neb. abortion (first-of-their-kind restrictions) bill gets 2nd OK

LINCOLN - A measure that would implement first-of-their-kind restrictions to ban abortions at 20 weeks of pregnancy has received second-round approval in Nebraska.

Lawmakers voted on the measure (LB1103) on Friday. It is expected to get final approval and be signed by Gov. Dave Heineman within several days.

It would limit abortions based on assertions fetuses feel pain at 20 weeks. Current restrictions in Nebraska and across the country are based on the ability of a fetus to survive outside the womb.

Although determined on a case-by-case basis, viability is generally considered to occur around 22 or 24 weeks.

5. This is weird
I live in Lincoln, I can see the capitol building, two blocks away, through my window, and I hadn't even heard of this. How did they keep it a secret?

6. Abortion is legal in America
...I just don't understand...

Abortion is legal. Period.

Add to that...I'm sick of these guys (and it's almost always white men that come up with this stuff) needing
to regulate a woman's reproductive organs. Get your head out of her crotch...get your head out of her bedroom.
Notice the crickets when it comes to the responsibility of the male?

They are SO obsessed with abortion...WHAT about all the innocent lives lost in "war"? WHAT about executions?

I find it so hypocritical but I guess when you just plain old want to control what a woman does...it fits.

Ladies...get your Burka ready...that's the next step.

8. That's not true regarding abortion's legality.
Roe vs. Wade is not that expansive, and has since been whittled away. There are numerous restrictions on abortion. I do agree with the slogan we used to use though, "Abortion on demand, and without apology!"

9. Where is all the care about pain after it's born?
No care at all about life once it leaves the mother.

They are pro-fetus but anti-child.

10. JUNK SCIENCE! JUNK SCIENCE!
Wow...yet even more right-wing anti-science legislation. As if inserting creationism in public school science curricula as a legitimate alternative/debate wasn't dumb enough.
