Russian President: ‘Obama is a thinker — unlike other people’

By David Edwards
Monday, April 12th, 2010 -- 8:59 am

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that President Obama is a "thinker" unlike "other people." The Russian president seemed to be referring to President George W. Bush.

"I won't name anyone by name," he said.

In a rambling fashion, Medvedev also talks in vague terms about an "agreement" reached between President Barack Obama and his own country over reducing the number of active missiles in their respective arsenals.

"We agreed upon and we spoke about with President Obama and talked about with American representatives that we should cooperate in the creation of global missile defense systems," he added. "But if that process will go eventually on such a scenario which, according to our impression, will lead to the quantity changes, then such a question could be posed by our side. And this is the principle of that reasoning, and understanding as well about that oral statement yesterday."

1. Well Bush declared himself
the "Decider".... certainly never a thinker ....he was also a listener, but only when God or VP Cheney spoke to him of course...and he spent his early years as a drinker.... again not as a thinker!
If you check out footage of him recently in Haiti you will see what he really is - a loser.

If Jesus had told Bush to provide health care to poor people, the GOP would have sent Bush to a mental hospital immediately.

2. Do we really need to tiptoe around the fact that Bush was the biggest idiot
the world has ever seen?

My god, just watching any video of him still makes me wince with horror and shame.

And we judge the people of Afghanistan?

This man still frightens me...we'll be feeling the effects of the damage he wrought for years to come.

6. "He" was not the real President IMO
"He" was too stupid to engineer all those evil deeds.
IMO, "He" was the puppet for a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy that was totally in change of our country.

The Supreme Court, M$M, Economy ~ everything.

Let's take every issue ---- Katrina, nothing really happened from them until all the damage was done.

People spoke out,but they did not budge.

Take Halliburton
Take the Carlyle Group

Take Cheney -- please take him!
Do you think if Biden shot his friend it would have been funny to the M$M?

They still hold control of this country.

56. Particularly if Biden had stalled the sheriff's deputy from his investigation
until the next day, giving himself time to either sober up or get their stories straight.

I still wonder to this day if that attorney questioned the legality of Cheney's torture tactics causing Cheney to lose his temper and shoot him?

59. Harry Whittington was Rove's attorney, so claims Rove in his book.
Cheney did say that he and Whittington were friends, but even friends can get in to arguments, fights or worse, particularly if alcohol is involved and I see no other reason as to why Cheney's secret service would deny giving access to the sheriff's *deputy to conduct his investigation until the next day, unless there was some drinking and/or stories needed to be developed.

The legality of torture had become a major issue and I have no doubt the Cheney/Bush Maladministration was wanting as much legal support as possible, the fact that Cheney's victim was an attorney may just be a coincidence.

* This is another oddity, there may be a good explanation but it seems to me if a shooting takes place involving the Vice-President of the United States in your jurisdiction, the sheriff would personally want to investigate instead of sending a deputy.

11. Yes indeedy he's a thinker...
President Obama (I love saying/writing that) thinks about things before he decides on a course of action, even if I don't always agree with said action, at least I know he's thought it through, and talked to other "thinkers" before he makes a decision. He doesn't go off half cocked like some people.

Funny, though the knuckle dragging mouth breathers thinks this is something to be ridiculed, demeaned and made fun of. It amazes me that they get their jollies making fun of Obama being educated. They think that's a flaw. What's up with that?

Instead they praise, reading from the palm of your hand, "you betcha", "wink, wink" and a bunch of buzz words strung together that make no sense at all. They, in general, adore, bat shit craziness (apologies to bats and their shit). Any and all criticism of any democrat, especially Obama. Whether it's true or not, hypocritical, or just plain stupid it doesn't matter. All that matters is you disagree and occasionally try for a zinger.

All you need to do is say "patriots", "freedom loving" "God", "guns" in some random order and your their hero. WTF?!?!? Seriously, I don't get it. :wtf:

15. GWB's lasting damage
Edited on Mon Apr-12-10 10:48 AM by 90-percent
Bush' outright evil has not yet even begun to kick in to it's full extent.

It will kick in dramatically sometime in the future when we elect a Republican Sociopath that isn't a humanistic and enlightened as Bush was.

This future psycho will simply take advantage of all the "If the President does it, it's Not Illegal" Nixon doctrine, that has been embraced by the Obama Justice Department as perfectly acceptable and no treason here.

So the future will be wrecked by the over reaching and Unconstitutionality of the GW Bush years, and the legal cover generously donated by the Obama Justice Department.

40. And that legal cover will come back to haunt the Democrats
When that wingnut psycho is "elected", whether its Queen of the sled dogs, or someone else, they will point back, just like they did with the Iraq war vote, in how the Democrats had no problem with it when Obama was in power.

And there will be another Repuke as president. The MSM will make sure of that. They go out of their way to prop up the myth that Republicans are a legitimate "party of the people" on equal par with the Democratic party, when its been clear for years that their base are the top 10% in wealth and they are constantly using lies and innuendo because they can't use facts to back up their more absurd claims. But as long as the MSM allows them to get away with it, and even pretend its all politics as usual, they'll keep doing it until another Repuke is in power.

19. Different day and different times
I loved reading about FDR, he was a great President!

I wonder how FDR would have lead in the era of the internet?
There were a lot of people that hated hisx wonderful wife and they were always trashing her.
His "romance" would have been all over the Enquirer that is for sure.

GW was an internet President but it didn't matter because the ROVE Elves controlled everything.

This is the first Democratic President that must function with instant world wide coverage and instant spin from CNN and all the rest.

I recall when Clinton was in office, everyone was still getting their "news" mainly from the 6 o clock news and their AM Newspaper.

The Democrats do not control the news now days, the Rethugs still do.

How would FDR do under this environment ~ who knows.

23. That was a little long winded. What I mean is you need someone...........
............with the "balls" to push and prod working class legislation through a overwhelmingly Dem Congress. The last President you could actually say had at least some liberal domestic policies was Nixon (believe it or not) and I hated Nixon. Carter sucked, Clinton sucked more and it now looks like Obama will suck even worse. Forget all the BS you stated above, it's MONEY that makes the difference today. We need public financed Federal (at the very least) elections and you would see a marked difference immediately.

Am I the only one that is sceptical when a Russian leader, one with former KGB Putin pulling the strings, is supporting Obama?? No one is arguing Bush's genious, but when I hear anything resembling Russian "support", I cringe. I think that we can believe that Obama is doing the right thing AND think that Medvedev is full of it.

45. Absolutely
Only 20 years from the fall of the Soviet Union, it is a country still led by a former KGB leader, causing trouble in Georgia, Ukraine (trying to murder their President), now the Krgystan election. They murdered a former Russian agent in the UK (with radioactive Polonium), crackdowns on people in the media and industry, threatening heating oil shipments to eastern Europe. Until I see some sort of move toward anything sensible, I believe that we should approach them with skepticism.

What would be a reason to believe otherwise??

61. Wow, are you sure you are on the right forum?
Georgia attacked Russian peacekeepers and was kicked back big time. Don't watch Fox News, they will rot your brain.

Ukrainian President was not poisoned (actually this deal is swept under the carpet now in Ukraine, as the President is too ashamed to admit that eating sushi, drinking vodka, conjac and all kind of crap is not healthy for you health and could lead to poisoning).

If you have evidence that Putin or any other Russian politician ordered that murder, this is a good chance to present that. Other than that it was and still is an english tabloid bullshit talk.

And you understand jackshit about energy situation in the Europe-Ukraine-Russia triangle. In fact Russia didn't threaten anyone, it was Ukraine shamelessly stealing gas destined for Europe.

The problem is, US media is full of anti-Russian bias these days and in the days of previous administration, and I question the common sense of posters getting out of the shell to spout the Fox News memo or other conspiracy theories that pop up in sensationalist media.

And for a country that has been controled and abused by brain fart misogynist, gay bashing bullies and idiot puppets with a hateful, vengeful, greed driven evil puppeteer with his hand up all the wrong places, a leader with a brain and intellect is very scary for half and a blessing for the other half of the citizens.

There is no "seemed to" about it.

28. From Bush's first day in office we all knew
he would be a disaster and he was--everything went downhill from his first day. What still surprises me is that for 8 years we had to put up with his shennanigans and those of his crew. NO ONE DID ANYTHING! Very few people called him on it. The media giggled and laughed at him gently when he went looking for WMDs under the sofa, behind the curtains, etc. That is one of the worst things he ever did and the public went right along with it. At least Nero played music while the country burned. I will never forget those 8 years. It is not too late to punish him but again, no one seems to be doing anything. I know some want to look forward, but I can't forget the past. I do look forward to his getting his just reward.

But the significance of someone so stupid and destructive making it to the seat of power is something

And, like you, I cannot get over the snickering and giggling while Bush looked under the table

While the bodies of dead Americans were already piling up.

Its as if the entire country became as sociopathic as Bush.
