Robert Kennedy Files Lawsuit Against BP Oil
Source: Politicol News

April 30, 2010 Attorney Robert F. Kennedy Jr along with other lawyers filed a 17 page lawsuit against BP Oil for leaking oil into the Gulf of Mexico damaging shoreline along the four states and for damaging the fishing industry.

The leak had been misreported in the media days ago when it was thought that only 5,000 gallons were spilled per day which was again incorrectly report as it turns out the oil is more than 200,000 gallons per day and it is being blown t the south coast shore of the USA.

The suit represents the fishing industry and the first suit was filed by 2 commercial shrimpers from Louisiana which research and experts have said the wetlands will never be rid of the oil -ever. This means the wetlands will be poisoned with oil that cannot be removed at any cost but the clean up alone after the oil is stopped will be into the billions and billions of dollars.

The best practices of a corporation also would have BP Oil claim that the US government did not require oil rigs to have a safety shut off valve although other European countries do make that required by their laws. The US under the Bush administration did a favor for his oil friends and dropped the requirements. However, this does not mean that BP oil could not be intelligent enough to not lose its own oil -and put a shut off valve on the rig or the oil rig owner Deepwater Horizon Company.

This unfolding disaster can be placed SQUARELY ON THE SHOULDERS OF GEORGE W. BUSH! It was Bush's Department of the Interior who relaxed regulations on safety devices in the Gulf that allowed this to happen. WHEN WILL THE WORLD STOP SUFFERING FROM THE ACTIONS OF GEORGE W. BUSH???

2. What's all the noise about GWB. This is because of the rich elite

who own the entire US political system. They don't want to spend a dime on safety if it cuts into profits and their bonus pool.

and Yay! for Robert Kennedy for getting out ahead of this problem and putting a spotlight on why the oil company is at fault.

Looks like the USA is in the lead on the 'race to the bottom' on offshore oil wells.

That is so terrible, and frustrating.

The legal action Kennedy filed sounds like a good start on that front.

10. whoever wrote this article has their facts wrong. The report was 5000 Barrels a day
Edited on Fri Apr-30-10 05:34 PM by Aramchek
1 Barrel = 42 Gallons

5000 Barrels = ~200,000 gallons

14. Sorry, Bobby, take your place in line, behind 1000 others
who are sueing.

You don't get to be at the front of the line just because of your name.

You also have some rather stupid ideas and conspiracy theories, Bobby, so just give it up and live on your inheritance, stop trying to be famous for never having held elected office.

Sorry, you're not my favorite Kennedy.

38. Perhaps your corrosive hatred of the Kennedys has eaten away at your mind?
Edited on Sun May-02-10 12:57 PM by No Elephants

No one has to get in line to sue, regardless of what his or her name is. And the name of plaintiffs' lawyer has nothing to do with the rights of the plaintiffs in any event.

Hatred does not relieve you of an obligation to post something that makes sense.

BTW, who is your favorite Kennedy? Only a dead one?

19. Make BP pay
Stick it to these big oil companies. They pollute without regard to the law or respect for the people who have to live near their industrial operations. BP needs to pay for this entire disaster plus a hefty fine for allowing it to happen in the first place. If they find that they can no longer do business in the United States, then good riddance. We don't need their kind around here anyway

22. But wait!......
Isn't this the oil company that runs those beautiful TV ads telling the American public how environmentally friendly they are? How they're constantly seeking new ways to save energy. Kinda makes you wanna hug them. Such bullshit! Makes me wanna puke. I hope the fuckers go bankrupt paying for the cleanup. On the other hand, Exxon still hasn't paid the fine for the mess they created in Alaska since geez, I've already forgotten how long ago the Exxon Valdez fiasco happened. Crime sure does pay for big corporations. BTW, did you know if you took a crap in the ocean and got caught, you could go to jail.
