We don't tolerate racist behavior, Tea Party organizer says
Source: CBS News

(CNN) – A leader of a national Tea Party organization said Monday that her organization has no patience for racists.

"In Tea Party Patriots, we have no place for that," Jenny Beth Martin said on CNN's American Morning. "If we see somebody who's doing something racist, we tell them to leave our events. We're there for our core values. We want to reclaim our founding principles in this country."

Martin, who's the national coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots, said the conservative grassroots movement is dedicated to furthering three core values: fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets. Asked whether the Tea Party movement is political movement or a protest movement, Martin responded that it is "a little bit of both."

And Martin said the movement is open to everyone, including racial and ethnic minorities, notwithstanding the fact that some national polls have indicated Tea Party activists and supporters of the movement are predominantly Caucasian.

40. Yep...
But they're in full propaganda mode trying to convince the country they aren't racist. I was listening to Neal Conan's Talk of the Nation on NPR the other day. Conan trotted out a black tea partier as his guest in an effort to undermine any notion that there's racism in the tea party movement. I wasn't a bit surprised by this. I have grown accustomed to hearing Conan whore for the right. He feigns "balance", but he is fast becoming the Sean Hannity of NPR.

3. Pay no attention to 80% of our signs and slogans
"If we see somebody who's doing something racist . . ." Yeah, like what? Forming a lynch mob? Buying and selling slaves? What would rise to the level of racism that this garbanzo would recognize? I also like how CNN characterizes the Tea Baggers as a "conservative grassroots movement" without noting where their funding is coming from to send their national coordinator to make the talk show rounds.

When W started up two wars, the tax cuts, etc... which blew up the deficit. They were sitting on their hands during that time. Hypocrites.

10. They need to read some history
Limited government (depending on how limited, of course) only survives if other governments are similarly limited. After the revolutionary war, our limited government was outmanuevered and basically pantsed by the Europeans, hence the strong central government set up by the constitution in 1787. During the cold war, a limited US government would have been unable to act as a counterweight to the Soviet's influence.

Free markets have failed to provide the most basic equity wherever they have been tried, an economic "survival of the fittest", where the government is always left to pick up the shattered pieces. In any case, a free market no would have the US looking like Haiti in short order - we can't compete with the cheaper labor of the rest of the world.

...and the first victim of fiscal responsibility would be the US military, which consumes the greater part of US revenues.

They're basically self-contradictory short-sighted asshats, hardly bright enough to govern. If the gained power, they'd just run everything into the ground.

claims to be part of the non racist sector Tea Baggers if she and her group support Arizona's new immigration
law? I certainly believe her response would be telling.

Gosh, I can't stand CNN.

33. So we're going to stop seeing signs characterizing Mr. President
as a monkey, or a witchdoctor?

If they were to march against the police-state tactics practiced in Arizona, and the fingerprint-linked national ID proposed by the *Democrats,* of all people, I'd march with them.

Somehow, I don't think that'll happen. I don't remember seeing any tea party support for the protests this last weekend in Arizona and LA.
