Holder: N.Y. bomb suspect admits role, will face terror charges
Source: AP

— Attorney General Eric Holder says the suspect in the failed Times Square car bombing has admitted his role in the nearly catastrophic attack.

The Pakistani-born U.S. citizen will face terrorism and weapons of mass destruction charges and is cooperating with investigators, Holder said today.

"Based on what we know so far, it is clear that this was a terrorist plot aimed at murdering Americans in one of the busiest places in our country,” Holder said.

Faisal Shahzad is being questioned and has provided valuable information to investigators, Holder said.

Shahzad was not known to the U.S. intelligence community before the failed bombing attempt in New York City and there was no derogatory information about him in terrorism-related government databases, one U.S. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity amid the ongoing investigation.

5. But I'd be willing to bet the Brooklyn Bridge
that either Liz or Dick Cheney will be making the rounds on the Sunday talk shows yammering how this is just more proof that we need to torture people.

Tortured logic is all they have but it never seems to keep them from their fear mongering.

3. Tortured at Gitmo already??
:sarcasm:

For the record, that's two terror suspects in a row who spilled the beans without being tortured.

4. Gun Found in Bomb Suspect's Car, Sources Say. Also components from the bomb in his apt.
(CBS) A Federal law enforcement source told CBS News that components from the incendiary device left in a smoking SUV in Times Square Saturday evening were found in the suspect's Connecticut apartment.

A 9 mm handgun with extra clips was also discovered in Faisal Shahzad's car at New York's JFK International Airport, CBS News' Len Tepper reports.

Shahzad, a naturalized American citizen of Pakistani descent, was taken into custody last night.

Components from the device that were found in Shahzad's Bridgeport, Conn., apartment last night include the boxes for the clocks that were wired to the Nissan Pathfinder's explosive contents.

7. What does it matter if he was a Dem or Not?
He would have killed Republicans, Dems and Indies if that bomb exploded. He wasn't targeting government, he was targeting citizens/people. His politics were clearly a front/cover to an ulterior belief, just as his citizenry was.
