Fatality reported at WV mine

The West Virginia Office of Miner Safety and Training has confirmed one miner was killed Tuesday morning.

A miner was killed Tuesday morning at the Carson Mine in Upshur County, according to the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

The miner reportedly was trying to remove a piece of equipment from the mine when he was killed.

This is the 31st miner death in West Virginia this year.
