Some Palin Facebook fans unhappy with endorsement
Source: AP

By RACHEL D'ORO

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has outraged some of her fans with an endorsement of former Hewlett-Packard executive Carly Fiorina in the GOP's U.S. Senate primary in California.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate made the endorsement on her Facebook page, saying Fiorina's experience running a major corporation is sorely lacking in Washington.

In the Thursday posting, Palin called Fiorina a "Commonsense Conservative" who has the potential to beat "liberal" Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer in November.

Fiorina - an adviser on the McCain-Palin ticket in 2008 - got the endorsement over former congressman Tom Campbell, who is leading in most polls, and Chuck DeVore, a favorite of tea party supporters. But it's essentially a two-person race in a close match between Campbell and Fiorina, with DeVore far behind in the polls.

1. Fiorina's experience running a major corporation is sorely lacking in Washington?
Worst political cliche of the week. How's that major corporation that Fiorina was running doing these days?

Both Fiorina and Meg Whitman ran their companies into the ground.

6. What a laugh........
remember when they touted GW Bush as the "first MBA President"? He couldn't find oil in Texas. His Daddy's pals bailed him out of all of his failed business ventures. And we all know how his "business experience" worked out for the country, don't we? Like experience in the business world translates to government.

Palin supporters: faith based nincompoops whose IQs match their shoe sizes.

2. let's look at that experience in running a major corporation...
When Fiorina became CEO in July, 1999, HP's stock price was $52 per share, and when she left 5 1/2 years later in February, 2005, it was $21 per share—a loss of over 60% of the stock's value.
During this same time period, HP competitor Dell's stock price increased from $37 to $40 per share.

11. If Boxer's team doesn't already know that, she's in trouble.

4. Someone should make a big graph of HP's stock decline during Fiorina
And then follow her around the state with it on a big sign. Every time she's on TV, get the graph in the video!

9. I took a look over at freeperland the day of the endorsement
The vast majority of them were livid. Even the reich wing knows that Fiorina ran her companies into the ground, and has watch everything she's touched (including the McCain campaign) fail. They were willing to forgive her for endorsing McCain, after all, he was the one who made her famous, but this is too far for them, especially since there is a tea partier in the race.

I've been betting that Caribou Barbie would be the nominee, but after this, I don't think so anymore. The Rethugs had better find a new champion quickly, or they're going to be stuck with nanny-stater Hucksterbee (who the libertarians cannot stand) or Mormon Mittens, who the fundies cannot stand.

12. So, every fart from Palin or whoever tweets for her is worth a headline and so is every reaction to
every fart?

Palin stories used to make me laugh--or look away, as from an accident--but this has become beyond tedious.

What on earth is wrong with our media that "reaction" to Palin's every fart gets covered, but almost nothing about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan gets covered?

14. Fiorina: GWB 2.0?
I have been saying one thing about political candidates who tout their experience in the business world as qualification for public office: when a politician says he (or she in this case) is going to run the government like a business, find out how he runs businesses. We know Shrub's track record: he ran three oil companies into the ground and traded Sammy Sosa. Fiorina is as bad: she turned Hewlett-Packard from a manufacturer of high-margin test and measurement equipment people bought because of who made it, to a manufacturer of commodity personal computer equipment. Before Fiorina, HP sold most of its equipment through a direct sales force. Now? Their biggest vendor is Walmart.

15. Sun rises in the East, sets in the West. Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas.
Two life rules that never change.

HEY! PALIN GROUPIES! How's that snarky, nail-down-the-blackboard hopey-changey mocking bullshit workin' for ya?
