Pakistan tests nuclear capable missiles
Source: UPI

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, May 8 (UPI) -- Pakistan's military Saturday announced the successful test-firing of two ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani witnessed the firing along with senior military and civilian officials, Dawn reported.

"It is time for the world to recognize Pakistan as a de jure nuclear power with equal rights and responsibilities," Gilani said.

The missiles were the Shaheen-1, designed to hit targets 400 miles away, and the Ghazvani, which has a 180 mile range, Dawn reported.

1. Nations using nuclear warheads to gain respect is the ultimate degeneration of diplomacy.

2. Well this should complicate things nicely
Just when we need Pak to do our bidding vs the Taleban so that we can make progress in Afghanistan, they flex their anti-India muscle.
Jeez. Brings to mind the old Bobby McGuire song: "The eastern world, it is explodin', violence flarin', bullets loadin'"
And, of course, Pakistan hasn't signed on to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
God, what a mess.

4. ..They may not be flexing just their "anti-India" Muscle...
..They might also be flexing their Anti-United States Muscle.

The Times Square Bomber said he did it because he wanted to avenge US Drone attacks against innocent Pakistanis. And, to protest the squalor conditions Pak refugees are forced to live in. (Thanks to the U.S.)

President Obama announced that he is stepping up drone attacks against Pakistan.

The United States is an equal-opportunity aggressor... we are trying our best to piss off the entire world. Then we act "Surprised" when they try to blow up a car bomb in NYC...?

"They hate us for out freedom".
