Search warrants/arrests tied to Shahzad financing |
|
Source: CNN Home page: This just in" A source close to the investigation says the raids carried out this morning were focused on a system of “cash couriers” who bring money into the United States from overseas. Some of that money is thought to be made available to finance operations like the abortive Times Square attack. The source says the warrants for Thursday’s raids came as a result of the investigation into the Times Square incident, but it has not been determined conclusively if the alleged courier system under investigation is tied to that plot."

I predict that we will see more than one American detained in this investigation and these detainees will be fodder for the "strip their citizenship" fascists in Congress like Joe Lieberman. Of course the American arrested will likely have scary sounding foreign names THIS time. It makes the whole public execution of the Bill of Rights so much more palatable for the masses. After that, it will be just waiting for the water to come to a boil for the rest of us froggies to be cooked.

in the Boston viewing area are reporting that the folks arrested here were of Pakistani origin, (don't know what citizenship status), but that there were arrests due to "immigration violations"...
Also shown on local TV was a plastic bag being taken out of the house which obviously contained lots of U S cash (more than a few hundred unless they were all ones) one could see !
TV stations all over this for over 2 hours since 10 AM, even tho the arrests in the house were at 6:30 AM.

4. So you think it is okay for Pakistanis to become |
|
US citizens and then finance terror in this country with no consequences?
I disagree. I say send them all back if they finance terrorism and/or terrorists regardless of where they are from. As a naturalized citizen, I see the point that the gift of a US citizenship comes with responsibilities.

5. No, I merely offer that any US citizen is protected by the US Constitution |
|
If they have broken the law, they have the right to a trial in an American courtroom. The sanctions after a fair trial and conviction should also not include a stripping of citizenship.
Your response about being okay with terrorism is, though not unexpected, really rather silly.

7. Actually NON-citizens arrested in the USA are given Constitutional |
|
protections, too.
Do you find that hard to deal with?

6. Well, of course if someone has committed a crime, they should be |
|
punished to the full extent of the law. DON'T send them back!
But of course, you know that.

10. Someone on news saying there was also an arrest in Maine! |

So this may be bigger than just 3 states.
