(Senator) Leahy wants BP held accountable
Source: WCAX

Senator Patrick Leahy says Congress should make sure BP officials are held accountable for environmental and economic damage from the spill in the Gulf.

Lawmakers are currently considering a bill that would increase the amount of money oil companies are responsible for paying in damages after this type of incident, from $75 million dollars to $10 billion.

"When the Democrats tried to put into law to make sure they could be they'd have to pay for it, and that big oil everywhere would have to pay for cleanup, Republicans filibustered and blocked that. Frankly, this is something where Republicans and Democrats ought to come together and not allow big oil to call the shots, but allow the law to call the shots," said Leahy.

1. I don't care what excuses are used or how someone thinks
boycotting BP won't work, anyone who hates what they have done should never visit a BP station again. Ever.

2. I don't think $10 billion is enough of a cap
I think a trillion is a better cap.

3. If I get in my car...
and WILLFULLY disobey the driving and safety laws and in the process kill 11 people there is no monetary cap on what I did...simply put I would have the shit sued outta me!
The families of those 11 people would have me in such ridiculous debt that my grandkids would be paying for it

So how is BP any Different I ask, considering that the Supreme Court has said that "Corporations are Persons"

If BP is now a "Person" then I say Treat Them like you would me if I did This!!
