Seattle may join Arizona boycott
Source: My Northwest

Seattle could become the latest city to boycott Arizona over its new law targeting illegal immigrants.

On Monday, the city council will take up a resolution backed by dozens of local organizations.

"The city resolution calls for no new or amended contracts with organizations that are headquartered in Arizona and also, restrictions on travel," explained Toby Guevin, with One America, the largest immigrant advocate's group in Washington State.

The immigration law takes effect July 29 unless blocked by pending court challenges. It requires police enforcing another law to ask a person about his or her immigration status if there's "reasonable suspicion" that the person is in the country illegally. Being in the country illegally would become a state crime.

1. The ultra-right fringe trolls have already polluted the comments section.
One of them equates undocumented immigrants with thieves, rapists, etc. And apparently, he has something against buglers. Now, why would he pick on innocent musicians like that? :eyes:

2. LOL!
Apparently, you need to educate yourself about the harm to our society from illegal buglers--like stealing the jobs of legal buglers!

13. Plaing devi's advocate
---But one of the quickest ways to turn this country around would be to actually enforce our immigration laws.

We don't need no fence. We don't need no profiling. Just "Check the books" on any and all businesses, that their employees are legal. Frequently and randomly. Any found violating the law get fully prosecuted.

This alone would do much for getting wages back on track. There are at least as many if not twice as many illegals for all the "Unemployed". Having a gaping hole in the job market will force wages higher.

Combine this with calling Obama on his promise to "End tax breaks and subsidies to companies that export jobs" and we'll have a very prosperous nation again.

I am disgusted that the media turns "Illegal Immigration" into a "Left/Right" issue and even more so that people buy it. Don't play the "Race" card, would you talk the same if Canada and Mexico were switched, both geographically and economically?

"Illegal Immigration" is not a "Racial" issue, not a "Human Rights" issue.
It's "Economic Warfare".

Increase the "Supply" of labor by having illegals who can't bargain wages higher, combine with lowering demand for labor by outsourcing jobs, you have an "Rich Elite's" marketplace.

This should be nothing new. "Divide and Conquer" is their oldest trick. Get one group of people fighting another then massacre, enslave and/or rob them both.

I'm saying we should all call for laws like this. And if our states don't pass them start going on Jury Duty and "Nullifying" any crime committed against an illegal, save that by an employer who hired them or trafficker who brought them here.

14. My City Council Needs to Do this! Having spent too much
time in AZ in recent years, it is a hell hole, the old white, right wing retirees and real estate interests have turned a beautiful desert into hell on earth. I feel for the people stuck there, but have no sympathy for the Governor, legislature and so-called citizens who support racist legislation. The only tool the rest of us have is to punish AZ by with-holding our precious income (personal and public revenue)from being spent there.

Financial boycots of South Africa contributed to the ending of aparthied, and the freedom for Nelson Mandela, among many other actions taken by the people there and elsewhere.

Arizona is attempting to create a new aprathied with fences and pass-card! This is evil and must be defeated with all of our legal and non-violent means.

Or know that certain parts were changed.

Your comparison is about the same as comparing the dog pound to NAZI concentration camps.
