Democrats See Hope for Fall in Victory in House Race
Source: NYT

The triumph by Mark Critz, the Democratic candidate in the blue-collar 12th District, which was represented for decades by the late John P. Murtha, was interpreted by Democrats as clear evidence that they can prevail even in a tough political environment, if they emphasize local issues and reach out intensively to voters.

“Republican policies were once again rejected when it came time to face the voters,” said Representative Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

For Republicans, the failure to take an open seat that they made great efforts to capture was interpreted as a warning to curtail talk of how many seats they will win in November.

5. And it was $1 million the RNC didn't have

The RNC is already in the hole and could ill afford this fiasco.

6. This can't be true
The corporate media is telling me that I might as well stay home since a Republican victory is all but certain.

Get this: Republicans have won EVERY midterm election in the first term of a Democratic President EVERY time since 1994. You can't argue with statistics.

7. I think Democrats will do better in November than the media has been predicting; and I thought
that well before last night.

I just don't think "No, you can't do anything," is an agenda that inspires many people.

8. Neither is "you'll vote for us because you have no choice"
The bitch of it is, in the general election, they are right. But we showed them last night in Arkansas and Pennsylvania that we do have power in the primaries and we aren't afraid to use it. That might be a good lesson for all Democrats but especially DLCers, blue dogs and something they call "New Democrats".

Here's hoping they hear us.
