6. And I thought it was just her "music" that was toxic?
Not surprised to hear she's shilling for WalMart though. One evil corporation (Disney) just wasn't enough. Hell, her entire "career" is based on corporate prostiution (by way of her father pimping her out) anyway.

8. Made in China, of course!
Note this paragraph:

Testing of 61 samples bought by AP reporters across the country from the Miley Cyrus line and from an unrelated line of bracelet charms showed that 59 of the pieces contained at least 5 percent cadmium by weight, with 53 of those measuring 10 percent or higher. The packaging on both lines of jewelry said they were made in China; all were bought for $6 or less.

Six dollars or less! What a bargain!:grr:

16. its time to bring manufacturing of even small consumer goods back to this country
there was a study i read when i took my economics classes a few years back on outsourcing and its relation to cost savings (specifically from asia and overseas). It concluded that when covering costs of transport and all other things included; many times the cost savings when it came to consumer products was around 1%. It used the example of a TV set which costs $200 and manufactured in china compared to what it would be (estimated) if manufactured in the U.S.A.- the cost would if made in the us would end up being $203 and change.

It justs shows you how disgusting some of these companies are with greed. I doubt 3 dollars is going to make a big difference in a sale of a $200 dollar item. Its also short sighted- if you hire more workers here, there are more people working- therefore more people to buy your product.

9. Wal-Mart pulls Miley Cyrus jewelry over cadmium
Source: Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Wal-Mart said Wednesday it is pulling an entire line of Miley Cyrus-brand necklaces and bracelets from its shelves after tests performed for The Associated Press found the jewelry contained high levels of the toxic metal cadmium.

In a statement issued three hours after AP's initial report of its findings, Wal-Mart said it would remove the jewelry while it investigates. The statement was issued along with Cyrus and Max Azria, the designer that developed the jewelry for the 17-year-old "Hannah Montana" star.

In the statement, Wal-Mart said that while the jewelry is not intended for children, "it is possible that a few younger consumers may seek it out in stores."

"We are removing all of the jewelry from sale while we investigate its compliance with our children's jewelry standard," Wal-Mart said.

Yes, it's made from toxic metal, but it's not intended for children! Can't you see the difference? Gawd. :P

14. There's a line of Alice in Wonderland jewelry at Macy's. In tiny letters on the back it says...
... that it is not intended for use by children under 13 years old. What that tells me is that this Chinese-made crap is also toxic. Why is it allowed to be sold at all?

Wal-Mart said that while the jewelry is not intended for children, "it is possible that a few younger consumers may seek it out in stores."

Really? They get a lot of adults seeking Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana?

Cadmium in children's jewelry became a public concern in January when the AP published the results of an investigation that showed items at Walmarts and other large chains were as much as 91 percent of the toxic metal by weight.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. had learned of cadmium in the Mylie Cyrus jewelry, as well as in an unrelated line of bracelet charms, back in February, based on an earlier round of testing conducted at AP's request, but had continued selling the items. It said as recently as last month that it would be too difficult to test products already on its shelves.
Ah, sweet purveyors of Chinese filth. They don't want to take a bath, so they continued selling known poison to children.

The importer of the bracelet charms, Cousin Corp. of America, said that earlier this year, it persuaded one of the Chinese factories with which it works to stop using cadmium.
I'm sorry, they slipped you toxic waste disguised as a child's toy and you had to persuade them to stop doing that?

22. I guess it's ok to poison adults.
Just as long as it's not children. Might be some bad PR from that.

19. So literally toxic products = family friendly?
Miley Cyrus is supported by the Parents Television Council for being a "family-friendly" entertainer despite putting out products harmful to the brain both intellectually and anatomically. Next I'm waiting on her fraudulent "music" to be recalled. Along with all of Britney Spears's and Soulja Boy's and Nickelback's and Vanilla Ice's albums.

Fuck, if I ever got rich and famous, I'd be FURIOUS that immoral corporate interests are selling toxic shit to KIDS with my name on it.

I don't expect a reply from Miley. She's too busy partying.
