FBI's Mueller Warns of Terrorist Plots (before election)
Sounds like October Surprise is in full effect.... :grr:

FBI's Mueller Warns of Terrorist Plots
By CURT ANDERSON, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Terrorists could attempt to influence the outcome of this year's U.S. presidential election by launching attacks in America and overseas, FBI Director Robert Mueller said Thursday.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Mueller also said Islamic extremists have changed tactics and are focusing on recruiting local sympathizers who are less likely to arouse suspicion than outsiders sent into a country to conduct terrorist operations.

The deadly March 11 train bombings in Madrid, which were a factor in the ouster of a pro-U.S. Spanish government, could embolden al-Qaida or other extremists to attack the United States during this summer's presidential nominating conventions in New York and Boston, Mueller said.

"In the wake of what happened in Madrid we have to be concerned about the possibility of terrorists attempting to influence elections in the United States by committing a terrorist act," Mueller said.

<snip>

Can it be more goddamn obvious who is really controlling this shit??

2. The question is
Just how does Mueller think American elections would be influenced?

5. Right
But does that mean an attack would "scare" us into capitulating to the terrorist-sympathizer Kerry, or would we respond by voting for the great protector Bush?

The point is, Mueller's musings are just so much hot air if he can't follow his premise to a hypothetical conclusion. So the question remains, just how would a terrorist attack influence American elections?

10. Well, if the comparison is being made to Madrid, then I presume Mueller
is thinking that the U.S. would respond in a similar fashion...to the LEFT.

And I think that's likely. The violent atmosphere, the 9/11 hearings, etc. all lead to the Bush regime. He is associated with the cause and NOT protection. The fear that caused the U.S. to move Right has now turned to anger which is directed as much to the perpetrator as to the ineptitude of the current administration. And then there is the LIHOP crowd who sees the cause/effect as being one and the same entity...BUSHCO.

12. Exactly
All of the reasons you mention are legitmate reasons for people to vote against Bush even without another attack.

I fear we are being set-up for cries of illegitimacey should Bush lose. The whine will be that Kerry was elected only because "terrorists" interfered. Mark my words.

14. I wish I had more confidence in your assessment.
However, our country presents two very different "environments" from Spain: (1) A media dependent majority exposed to very little information on all sides of issues; and (2) a marked cultural split/divide. Personally, I would anticipate that, in the event of another tragedy, our country would become even further divided and civil unrest would exceed anything this country has experienced for over a century.

I would like to believe that people would swing back towards more liberal thinking/views. But, when I observe everyone around me, I sense a form of ignorant confusion, intuitive responses, and quick one-liner judgments.

...and so a 'limited extension of the present executive' will be necessary.

Enabling legislation passes both Houses on party-line votes.

Legislation found constitutitional by high court on a 5-4 decision.

Game over.

With an economy being driven towards a future like Argentina's, why shouldn't we expect our government to go in the same direction?

Next stop, Buenos Aires.

8. Where it will be is somewhere on the West Coast.
Jeb's already hinted that he wanted to wipe out San Francisco, so that's a good bet. Anywhere on the West Coast could be a target, as none of these states voted for those bastards (why do you think we have the highest gas prices in the country).

Another possibility is Vancouver BC. Tommy Franks hinted that a terrorist attack wouldn't neccessarily have to be within the US borders to make the move to martial law, but logic dictates it would have to be close. I don't see Tijuana being much of a target, so Vancouver becomes the obvious choice in that scenario. It would also serve the dual purpose of dragging Canada into the fear culture. If Bush remains in power by one means or another, he's going to make some move to stop massive emigration over the border, particurally when he begins the draft for the next PNAC invasion.

7. This burns my ass to a crisp, more fucking brain washing
propaganda.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are playing us for the suckers we are. When a dummy like Ahem Chalabi can play footsies with our administration and the same administering is connected to Halliburton then I'm convinced the Saudis and the Pakis are running the show, while China is holding our paper.

There are no brains left in this country. We have to import doctors, engineers and educators to keeps the system going, the day may come when these foreigners go home to make a better living. Then what?

11. I found this bit to be scariest:
<<In an interview with The Associated Press, Mueller also said Islamic extremists have changed tactics and are focusing on recruiting local sympathizers who are less likely to arouse suspicion than outsiders sent into a country to conduct terrorist operations.>>

Gonna start rounding up all us "local sympathizers" any minute!:hippie:

Hell - there have already been plenty of reports about "embed" cops and spooks at peace rallies...

18. The Cole already happened
That was a terrorist attack just weeks before the last election. Clinton wisely didn't make it an issue at all. No reason for the next President to do any different. That's what we should be saying to all these "election influence" warnings. Plus the fact that the mere mention of terrorist attacks influencing elections is already an attempt to influence elections.

19. More votes for Kerry
In Florida 40,000 Muslims voted for Bush in 2000. Look at his statement.

"focusing on recruiting local sympathizers "

That means Muslims will be targeted by the FBI and that will piss off a lot of them.

21. Attack by Al Q.
It is likely but the outcome is unpredictable.
Suspension of elections and Martial Law is highly likely.
Which way the Pres. vote would go if and when Martial Law is
vacated and elections occur is a crap shoot.

24. "When martial law is vacated"?
That isn't going to happen. If the Idiot Son of an Asshole succeeds in arranging a terrorist attack serious enough to invoke martial law, he has NO INTENTION of that being temporary. If it comes to that, then the choice is revolution, or slavery. The fascists' biggest miscalculation is assuming they will have the support of the military. After the way this Fraudministration has treated active duty, reserves, and veterans alike, I'm not entirely sure that will be the case.

put hostilities to an end. There's still a lot more of the Middle East to divvy up.
